Mark 13:19

19 For [in] those days there will be tribulation of such a kind as has not happened from the beginning of the creation that God created until now, and never will happen.

Mark 13:19 Meaning and Commentary

Mark 13:19

For in those days shall be affliction
What with the close siege of the Romans; the fury of the zealots, and seditious; the rage of different parties among the Jews themselves; the ravage of the sword, both within and without, together with dreadful plagues and famines:

such as was not from the beginning of the creation, which God
created, unto this time, neither shall be;
of which there never was the like in any age, and cannot be paralleled in any history, since the beginning of time, or the world was made, or any thing in it, down to that period; nor ever will the like befall any one particular nation under the heavens, to the end of the world; (See Gill on Matthew 24:21).

Mark 13:19 In-Context

17 And woe to those {who are pregnant} and to those who are nursing [their babies] in those days!
18 But pray that it will not happen in winter.
19 For [in] those days there will be tribulation of such a kind as has not happened from the beginning of the creation that God created until now, and never will happen.
20 And if the Lord had not shortened the days, {no human being would be saved}. But for the sake of the elect, whom he chose, he has shortened the days.
21 "And at that time if anyone should say to you, "Behold, here [is] the Christ,' 'Behold, there [he is],' do not believe [him]!
