1 Voici les sacrificateurs et les Lévites qui revinrent avec Zorobabel, fils de Schealthiel, et avec Josué: Seraja, Jérémie, Esdras,
2 Amaria, Malluc, Hattusch,
3 Schecania, Rehum, Merémoth,
4 Iddo, Guinnethoï, Abija,
5 Mijamin, Maadia, Bilga,
6 Schemaeja, Jojarib, Jedaeja,
7 Sallu, Amok, Hilkija, Jedaeja. Ce furent là les chefs des sacrificateurs et de leurs frères, au temps de Josué. -
8 Lévites: Josué, Binnuï, Kadmiel, Schérébia, Juda, Matthania, qui dirigeait avec ses frères le chant des louanges;
9 Bakbukia et Unni, qui remplissaient leurs fonctions auprès de leurs frères.
10 Josué engendra Jojakim, Jojakim engendra Eliaschib, Eliaschib engendra Jojada,
11 Jojada engendra Jonathan, et Jonathan engendra Jaddua.

This chapter gives an account of the chief of the priests and Levites in the days of Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Joiakim, Eliashib, and Nehemiah, Ne 12:1-26, of the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem, and of the joy expressed on that occasion, Ne 12:27-43, and of the appointment of some persons over the treasuries for the priests, Levites, singers, and porters, Ne 12:44-47.
