5 da er sprach: Bekehrt euch, ein jeglicher von seinem bösen Wesen, so sollt ihr in dem Lande, das der HERR euch und euren Vätern gegeben hat, immer und ewiglich bleiben. {~} {~}

Jeremiah 25:5

They said
The prophets: this was the substance of their discourses and prophecies, what follows: turn ye again now everyone from his evil way, and from the evil of
your doings;
repent of sins, and reform from them; particularly their idolatries, to which they were prone, and are after mentioned: and dwell in the land that the Lord hath given unto you to your
fathers for ever and ever;
that is, the land of Canaan, which was given to them, and their fathers before them, by the Lord, for an everlasting inheritance, provided they behaved towards him aright; for they held the possession of it by their obedience to his law; and now, notwithstanding all that they had done, or had been threatened with; yet, if they repented and reformed, they should still dwell in the land, and enjoy it, and all the blessings and privileges of it.

3 Es ist vom dreizehnten Jahr an Josias, des Sohnes Amons, des Königs Juda's, des HERRN Wort zu mir geschehen bis auf diesen Tag, und ich habe euch nun dreiundzwanzig Jahre mit Fleiß gepredigt; aber ihr habt nie hören wollen.

4 So hat der HERR auch zu euch gesandt alle seine Knechte, die Propheten, fleißig; aber ihr habt nie hören wollen noch eure Ohren neigen, daß ihr gehorchtet, {~}

5 da er sprach: Bekehrt euch, ein jeglicher von seinem bösen Wesen, so sollt ihr in dem Lande, das der HERR euch und euren Vätern gegeben hat, immer und ewiglich bleiben. {~} {~}

6 Folget nicht andern Göttern, daß ihr ihnen dienet und sie anbetet, auf daß ihr mich nicht erzürnt durch eurer Hände Werk und ich euch Unglück zufügen müsse.

7 Aber ihr wolltet mir nicht gehorchen, spricht der HERR, auf daß ihr mich ja wohl erzürntet durch eurer Hände Werk zu eurem eigenen Unglück.
