9 Da aber Jesus das hörte, verwunderte er sich über ihn und wandte sich um und sprach zu dem Volk, das ihm nachfolgte: Ich sage euch: Solchen Glauben habe ich in Israel nicht gefunden!

Luke 7:9

When Jesus heard these things
Which the friends of the centurion related from him, and in his name; or which he himself delivered, coming up to Christ after them:

he marvelled at him;
at his great humility and modesty, and the strength of his faith, and his manner of reasoning:

and turned him about;
from him, and his friends:

and said unto the people that followed him;
from the mount to Capernaum, and as he was passing along the streets:

I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel;
or "among the Israelites", as the Syriac; or "among the children of Israel", as the Persic; or "in all Israel", as the Arabic version reads, as he did in this single Gentile; (See Gill on Matthew 8:10).

7 darum habe ich auch mich selbst nicht würdig geachtet, daß ich zu dir käme; sondern sprich ein Wort, so wird mein Knecht gesund.

8 Denn auch ich bin ein Mensch, der Obrigkeit untertan, und habe Kriegsknechte unter mir und spreche zu einem: Gehe hin! so geht er hin; und zum andern: Komm her! so kommt er; und zu meinem Knecht: Tu das! so tut er's.

9 Da aber Jesus das hörte, verwunderte er sich über ihn und wandte sich um und sprach zu dem Volk, das ihm nachfolgte: Ich sage euch: Solchen Glauben habe ich in Israel nicht gefunden!

10 Und da die Gesandten wiederum nach Hause kamen, fanden sie den kranken Knecht gesund.

11 Und es begab sich darnach, daß er in eine Stadt mit Namen Nain ging; und seiner Jünger gingen viele mit ihm und viel Volks.
