And ran through that whole region round about
That is, the inhabitants of that part of the country where Christ landed, ran many of them themselves, and others sent messengers into all parts of it, on every side:

and began to carry about in beds those that were sick;
or lame, or so disordered that they could not walk, or bear any other way of being carried: these they brought to him,

where they heard he was:
in whatsoever part of the country they could learn he was in; for he went about from place to place doing good.

56 Wherever he went, village or town or country crossroads, they brought their sick to the marketplace and begged him to let them touch the edge of his coat - that's all. And whoever touched him became well.
