Numbers 10:3 Meaning and Commentary

Numbers 10:3

And when they shall blow with them
With both the trumpets, in an even and continued sound, that is, the sons of Aaron:

all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the
tabernacle of the congregation;
to hear what was to be said unto them: blowing both the trumpets together was a token that the whole congregation was called to meet together at the tabernacle, the door of which was the usual place of assembling, especially on religious counts, for there also the Lord met them, ( Exodus 29:42 Exodus 29:43 ) .

Numbers 10:3 In-Context

1 God spoke to Moses:
2 "Make two bugles of hammered silver. Use them to call the congregation together and give marching orders to the camps.
3 When you blow them, the whole community will meet you at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.
4 "When a bugle gives a single, short blast, that's the signal for the leaders, the heads of the clans, to assemble.
5 When it gives a long blast, that's the signal to march. At the first blast the tribes who were camped on the east set out.
