Luke 6:27-36

Listen to Luke 6:27-36
27 "But I say to you who hear, 1love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
28 bless those who curse you, 2pray for those who mistreat you.
29 "3Whoever hits you on the cheek, offer him the other also; and whoever takes away your coat, do not withhold your shirt from him either.
30 "Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back.
31 "4Treat others the same way you want them to treat you.
32 "5If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them.
33 "If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.
34 "6If you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners in order to receive back the same amount.
35 "But 7love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be 8sons of 9the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men.
36 "Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

Greetings and welcome to another edition of Hope From the Word with Pastor Bill Luebkemann. On behalf of Calvary Chapel of Marlton, we're so glad you could be with us as we bring you part two of a message titled, Loving Your Enemies. Loving our enemies is one of the more difficult aspects of the Christian life and Pastor Bill takes us today to Luke, chapter six, where Jesus speaks on the subject. Maybe you can think of a few people you'd classify as enemies? Let's see together how we can express Christ-like love to them. Here's Pastor Bill…

As believers, we're asked to do some things that are not easy and often well outside our comfort zones. Things like witnessing, self-discipline, and developing a servant's heart. But, there's one area in particular that's especially difficult: loving our enemies! How in the world do we do that? Let's talk about that today on Hope From the Word with Bill Luebkemann, from Calvary Chapel of Marlton. Join us, if you can, in Luke, chapter six, as we hand the program back over to Pastor Bill.
