Mark 12:9

9 "So what will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and kill those farmers and will give the vineyard to other farmers.

Mark 12:9 Meaning and Commentary

Mark 12:9

What shall therefore the Lord of the vineyard do?
&c.] The Arabic and Ethiopic versions add, to them; that is, to the husbandmen, as is expressed in ( Matthew 21:40 ) , (See Gill on Matthew 21:40):

he will come and destroy the husbandmen, and will give the vineyard
unto others.
As the former clause contains a question put by Christ upon his having finished the parable, this is an answer to it, given by the chief priests, Scribes, and elders, in whose presence, and for whose sake it was delivered; (See Gill on Matthew 21:41).

Mark 12:9 In-Context

7 "But the farmers said to each other, 'This son will inherit the vineyard. If we kill him, it will be ours.'
8 So they took the son, killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard.
9 "So what will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and kill those farmers and will give the vineyard to other farmers.
10 Surely you have read this Scripture: 'The stone that the builders rejected became the cornerstone.
11 The Lord did this, and it is wonderful to us.'"
