24 Its heart is hard as rock, hard as a millstone.

Job 41:24 Meaning and Commentary

Job 41:24

His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of
the nether [millstone].
] Which must be understood not of the substance but of the qualities of it, being bold, courageous, undaunted, and unmerciful; which is true both of the whale and crocodile, and particularly of the crocodile: Aelianus F26 relates of one sort of them that they are unmerciful, though elsewhere F1, he represents them as fearful.

Job 41:24 In-Context

22 “The tremendous strength in Leviathan’s neck strikes terror wherever it goes.
23 Its flesh is hard and firm and cannot be penetrated.
24 Its heart is hard as rock, hard as a millstone.
25 When it rises, the mighty are afraid, gripped by terror.
26 No sword can stop it, no spear, dart, or javelin.
