12 Pero como Amasa yacía bañado en su propia sangre en medio del camino, y el hombre de Joab vio que todos se detenían para verlo, lo arrastró fuera del camino hasta el campo y le echó un manto encima.

2 Samuel 20:12

And Amasa wallowed in blood in the midst of the highway
By which it seems, that though the wound was mortal, and of which he died, that as yet there was life in him, and through the pain he was in, and the pangs of death on him, he rolled himself about in his own blood in the high road, where the fact was committed:

and when the man saw that all the people stood still;
gazing at the shocking sight, and could not be prevailed upon to go on:

he removed Amasa out of the highway into the field;
which was adjoining to it:

and cast a cloth upon him;
that the body might not be seen:

when he saw that everyone that came by him stood still;
and so retarded the people in their march, to prevent which he took the above method, and it was a very prudent one.

10 Amasa no se dio cuenta de la daga que tenía en la mano izquierda, y Joab se la clavó en el estómago, de manera que sus entrañas se derramaron por el suelo. Joab no necesitó volver a apuñalarlo, y Amasa pronto murió. Joab y su hermano Abisai lo dejaron tirado allí y siguieron en busca de Seba.

11 Uno de los jóvenes de Joab les gritó a las tropas de Amasa: «Si están a favor de Joab y David, vengan y sigan a Joab».

13 Con el cuerpo de Amasa quitado de en medio, todos continuaron con Joab a capturar a Seba, hijo de Bicri.

14 Mientras tanto, Seba recorría todas las tribus de Israel y finalmente llegó a la ciudad de Abel-bet-maaca. Todos los miembros de su propio clan, los bicritas,
se reunieron para la batalla y lo siguieron a la ciudad.
