7 Entonces Abisai y Joab,

2 Samuel 20:7

And there went out after him Joab's men
Who though he was removed from his post as general, yet might still have the command of a regiment:

and the Cherethites, and the Pelethites;
over whom Benaiah was, ( 2 Samuel 20:23 ) ; these attended David in his flight, and had now returned with him, ( 2 Samuel 15:18 ) ;

and all the mighty men;
the military men that were at Jerusalem as many as could be spared:

and they went out of Jerusalem to pursue after Sheba the son of Bichri;
with Abishai at the head of them; Josephus ^F17 says there were six hundred, besides the soldiers at Jerusalem that went on this pursuit.

5 Así que Amasa salió a notificar a la tribu de Judá, pero le llevó más tiempo del que le fue dado.

6 Por eso David le dijo a Abisai: «Seba, hijo de Bicri, nos va a causar más daño que Absalón. Rápido, toma a mis tropas y persíguelo antes de que llegue a alguna ciudad fortificada donde no podamos alcanzarlo».

8 Al llegar a la gran roca de Gabaón, Amasa les salió al encuentro. Joab llevaba puesta su túnica militar con una daga sujeta a su cinturón. Cuando dio un paso al frente para saludar a Amasa, sacó la daga de su vaina.

9 «¿Cómo estás, primo mío?», dijo Joab, y con la mano derecha lo tomó por la barba como si fuera a besarlo.
