Daniel 2:44-49

44 »Durante los gobiernos de esos reyes, el Dios del cielo establecerá un reino que jamás será destruido o conquistado. Aplastará por completo a esos reinos y permanecerá para siempre.

45 Ese es el significado de la roca cortada de la montaña, aunque no por manos humanas, que hizo pedazos la estatua de hierro, bronce, barro, plata y oro. El gran Dios estaba mostrando al rey lo que ocurrirá en el futuro. El sueño es verdadero y el significado, seguro.

46 Nabucodonosor recompensa a Daniel
Entonces el rey Nabucodonosor se postró ante Daniel y le rindió culto, y mandó al pueblo que ofreciera sacrificios y quemara incienso dulce frente a Daniel.

47 El rey le dijo: «En verdad tu Dios es el más grande de todos los dioses, es el Señor de los reyes, y es quien revela los misterios, porque tú pudiste revelar este secreto».

48 Entonces el rey puso a Daniel en un puesto importante y le dio muchos regalos valiosos. Nombró a Daniel gobernador de toda la provincia de Babilonia y jefe de todos los sabios del rey.

49 A petición de Daniel, el rey puso a Sadrac, Mesac y Abed-nego a cargo de todos los asuntos de la provincia de Babilonia, mientras Daniel permaneció en la corte del rey.

Daniel 2:44-49 Meaning and Commentary

INTRODUCTION TO DANIAL 2

The subject of this chapter is a dream which Nebuchadnezzar had dreamed, but had forgot; upon which he calls his magicians and astrologers together, to tell him it, and the interpretation of it; threatening them with death if they did not, and promising them great rewards and honour if they did, Da 2:1-6, they urge the unreasonableness of the demand, and the impossibility of the thing; which so highly incensed the king, that he ordered their immediate destruction, Da 2:7-13, Daniel and his companions being in danger, he goes in to the king, and desires time, and he would show him what he had dreamed; which being granted, he spent it in prayer to God, Da 2:14-18, and the thing being revealed to him, he gave thanks to God, Da 2:19-23, and being introduced to the king, he both told him his dream, and the interpretation of it; which concerned the four monarchies of the world, and the everlasting kingdom of the Messiah, Da 2:24-45, upon which he was highly honoured, and greatly promoted by the king, Da 2:46-49.
