1 Un llamado a recordar y a obedecer
»Asegúrate de obedecer todos los mandatos que te entrego hoy. Entonces vivirás y te multiplicarás, y entrarás en la tierra que el Señor
juró dar a tus antepasados y la poseerás.

Deuteronomy 8:1

All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye
observe to do
It is repeated over and over again, to impress it on their minds, and to show the importance and necessity of it, how greatly it was expected from them, and how much it was incumbent on them:

that ye may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land which the
Lord sware unto your fathers;
for their temporal life, and the mercies and comforts of it, the multiplication of their offspring, and of their substance, their entrance into the land of Canaan, possession of it, and continuance in it, all depended on their obedience to the commands of God; see ( Deuteronomy 19:20 ) .

»Asegúrate de obedecer todos los mandatos que te entrego hoy. Entonces vivirás y te multiplicarás, y entrarás en la tierra que el Señor
juró dar a tus antepasados y la poseerás.

2 Recuerda cómo el Señor
tu Dios te guió por el desierto durante cuarenta años, donde te humilló y te puso a prueba para revelar tu carácter y averiguar si en verdad obedecerías sus mandatos.

3 Sí, te humilló permitiendo que pasaras hambre y luego alimentándote con maná, un alimento que ni tú ni tus antepasados conocían hasta ese momento. Lo hizo para enseñarte que la gente no vive solo de pan, sino que vivimos de cada palabra que sale de la boca del Señor
.

4 En todos esos cuarenta años, la ropa que llevabas puesta no se gastó, y tus pies no se ampollaron ni se hincharon.

5 Ten por cierto que, así como un padre disciplina a su hijo, el Señor
tu Dios te disciplina para tu propio bien.
