Of a truth Lord
This is a truth and will be readily owned what the king of Assyria has said that his ancestors have destroyed all lands, or at least have endeavoured to do it, and have had it in their hearts to do it: the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations, and their
countries:
or "all the lands and their land" ^F13; the Targum is,

``all provinces and their lands;''

the countries and town and villages in them, or the chief cities and villages round about them.

16 «¡Oh Señor
de los Ejércitos Celestiales, Dios de Israel, tú estás entronizado entre los poderosos querubines! Solo tú eres el Dios de todos los reinos de la tierra. Solo tú creaste los cielos y la tierra.

17 ¡Inclínate, oh Señor
, y escucha! ¡Abre tus ojos, oh Señor
, y mira! Escucha las palabras desafiantes de Senaquerib contra el Dios viviente.

, que los reyes de Asiria han destruido a todas esas naciones.

19 Han arrojado al fuego los dioses de esas naciones y los han quemado. ¡Por supuesto que los asirios pudieron destruirlos, pues no eran dioses en absoluto! Eran solo ídolos de madera y de piedra, formados por manos humanas.

20 Ahora, oh Señor
nuestro Dios, rescátanos de su poder; así todos los reinos de la tierra sabrán que solo tú, oh Señor
