27 Pues los vigilaré para traerles desastre y no bien. Todos los de Judá que ahora viven en Egipto sufrirán guerra y hambre hasta que todos mueran.

Jeremiah 44:27

Behold, I will watch over them for evil, and not for good,
&c.] To bring the evil of punishment upon them, the particulars of which are after mentioned, and not the blessings of goodness, as formerly; and this he would be as careful and diligent to bring about, as one that watches all opportunities to do hurt to another; and it must be dreadful to be under the vigilant avenging eye of God: and all the men of Judah that [are] in the land of Egypt shall be
consumed by the sword, and by the famine, until there be an end of
them;
that is, the greatest part of them, excepting a few that shall escape, hereafter mentioned, particularly Jeremiah and Baruch; but as for the main body of such, who went of their own accord to Egypt, and settled, and fell: into the idolatry of the country; these should all perish one after another, till there were none of them left; either by the sword of the king of Babylon; or by famine, which his army and sieges would produce; or by pestilence, though not here mentioned, yet is in ( Jeremiah 44:13 ) .

de los Ejércitos Celestiales, Dios de Israel: “Ustedes y sus esposas han dicho: ‘Guardaremos nuestras promesas de quemar incienso y derramar ofrendas líquidas a la reina del cielo’ y por sus hechos han demostrado que hablaban en serio. ¡Así que vayan, cumplan sus promesas y votos a ella!”.

26 »Sin embargo, escuchen este mensaje del Señor
todos ustedes, los judíos que ahora viven en Egipto: “He jurado por mi gran nombre —dice el Señor
— que mi nombre ya no será pronunciado por ningún judío en la tierra de Egipto. Ninguno de ustedes podrá invocar mi nombre ni usar el siguiente juramento: ‘Tan cierto como que el Señor
Soberano vive’.

27 Pues los vigilaré para traerles desastre y no bien. Todos los de Judá que ahora viven en Egipto sufrirán guerra y hambre hasta que todos mueran.

28 Solo un pequeño número escapará de morir y regresará a Judá desde Egipto. ¡Entonces todos los que vinieron a Egipto sabrán cuáles palabras son verdad: las mías o las de ellos!

29 »”Esta es la prueba que les doy —dice el Señor
— de que se cumplirán todas mis amenazas y de que aquí en esta tierra los castigaré”.
