16 Pues bien, tengo una petición que hacerle, y espero que me la conceda.—Continúa —dijo ella.

And now I ask one petition of thee
And but one, and a small one too, as Bathsheba herself after calls it:

deny me not,
or "turn not away my face" F20; with shame and sorrow, which would be the case should he be denied:

and she said unto him, say on;
let me hear it.

15 —Como usted sabe —dijo Adonías—, el reino me pertenecía, y todos los israelitas esperaban que yo llegara a ser rey. Pero ahora el reino ha pasado a mi hermano, que lo ha recibido por voluntad del SEÑOR.
16 Pues bien, tengo una petición que hacerle, y espero que me la conceda.—Continúa —dijo ella.
17 —Por favor, pídale usted al rey Salomón que me dé como esposa a Abisag la sunamita; a usted no se lo negará.
18 —Muy bien —contestó Betsabé—; le hablaré al rey en tu favor.
