12 Por haberse humillado Roboán, y porque aún quedaba algo bueno en Judá, el SEÑOR apartó su ira de él y no lo destruyó por completo,

2 Chronicles 12:12

And when he humbled himself
That is, Rehoboam; or broke his heart, as the Targum, was of a contrite spirit seemingly, for it was merely external:

the wrath of the Lord turned from him;
which appeared by the departure of Shishak's army:

that he would not destroy him altogether;
or make an utter destruction of him and his people:

and also in Judah things went well;
prospered and succeeded after this affair of Shishak was over: or "in Judah there were good things" ^F16; there were some good men, priests, Levites, and many of the common people, that did good things, kept up and abode by the pure worship and service of God; and which was another reason why the Lord would not destroy them altogether now, see ( Genesis 18:31 Genesis 18:32 ) .

10 Para reemplazarlos, el rey Roboán mandó hacer escudos de bronce y los puso al cuidado de los jefes de la guardia que custodiaba la entrada del palacio real.

11 Siempre que el rey iba al templo del SEÑOR, los guardias lo acompañaban portando los escudos, pero luego los devolvían a la sala de los centinelas.

12 Por haberse humillado Roboán, y porque aún quedaba algo bueno en Judá, el SEÑOR apartó su ira de él y no lo destruyó por completo,

13 así que el rey Roboán afirmó su trono y continuó reinando en Jerusalén. Su madre era una amonita llamada Noamá.Roboán tenía cuarenta y un años cuando ascendió al trono, y reinó diecisiete años en Jerusalén, la ciudad donde, de entre todas las tribus de Israel, el SEÑOR había decidido habitar.

14 Pero Roboán actuó mal, porque no tuvo el firme propósito de buscar al SEÑOR.
