2 Kings 1:15

And the angel of the Lord said unto Elijah,
&e.] The same as in ( 2 Kings 1:3 ) or "had said" ^F7, as some render it, before this captain came: go down with him;
the captain and his men: and be not afraid of him;
of King Ahaziah, whom he might fear, because of the message he had sent him, that he should die of that sickness, and for turning back his messengers to the god of Ekron, and for destroying his two captains and their fifties; nor of his mother Jezebel, who had threatened his life for killing her prophets: and he arose, and went down with him unto the king;
boldly and courageously, not fearing his wrath; so that the captain not only had his life and the life of his men spared, but answered the end of his message also.

13 Por tercera vez el rey envió a un oficial con otros cincuenta soldados. Cuando este llegó hasta donde estaba Elías, se puso de rodillas delante de él y le imploró:—Hombre de Dios, le ruego que respete mi vida y la de estos cincuenta servidores suyos.

14 Sé bien que cayó fuego del cielo y consumió a los dos primeros oficiales y a sus soldados. Por eso le pido ahora que respete mi vida.

15 El ángel del SEÑOR le ordenó a Elías: «Baja con él; no le tengas miedo». Así que Elías se levantó y bajó con el oficial para ver al rey,

16 a quien le dijo:—Así dice el SEÑOR: “Enviaste mensajeros a consultar a Baal Zebub, dios de Ecrón. ¿Acaso no hay Dios en Israel a quien puedas consultar? Puesto que has actuado así, ya no te levantarás de tu lecho de enfermo, sino que ciertamente morirás”.

17 Así fue como murió el rey, según la palabra que el SEÑOR había anunciado por medio de Elías.Como Ocozías no llegó a tener hijos, Jorán lo sucedió en el trono. Esto aconteció en el segundo año de Jorán hijo de Josafat, rey de Judá.
