Revelation 2:21

And I gave her space to repent of her fornication
Of idolatry. This may have respect to the time of the witnesses, the Waldenses, and others, who bore a testimony against the Romish idolatry, and reproved for it, and denounced the judgment of God in case of impenitence; and as these things were repeated time after time, this may be called a space given to repent in; just as Jezebel had a space given her to repent in, from the time that Elijah declared the word of the Lord, that the dogs should eat her: so the Jews ^F2 say of the old world, that God gave them (bwvl Nmz) , "space to repent", but they repented not, as here:

and she repented not;
see ( Revelation 9:20 Revelation 9:21 ) ; for the time for, and means leading to repentance may be given, yet if the grace of repentance itself is not given, men, either particular persons, or whole bodies of men, will never repent of their sins. The Alexandrian copy, Complutensian, Vulgate Latin, and all the Oriental versions, read, "and she would not repent".

19 Conozco tus obras, tu amor y tu fe, tu servicio y tu perseverancia, y sé que tus últimas obras son más abundantes que las primeras.

20 Sin embargo, tengo en tu contra que toleras a Jezabel, esa mujer que dice ser profetisa. Con su enseñanza engaña a mis siervos, pues los induce a cometer inmoralidades sexuales y a comer alimentos sacrificados a los ídolos.

21 Le he dado tiempo para que se arrepienta de su inmoralidad, pero no quiere hacerlo.

22 Por eso la voy a postrar en un lecho de dolor, y a los que cometen adulterio con ella los haré sufrir terriblemente, a menos que se arrepientan de lo que aprendieron de ella.

23 A los hijos de esa mujer los heriré de muerte. Así sabrán todas las iglesias que yo soy el que escudriña la mente y el corazón; y a cada uno de ustedes lo trataré de acuerdo con sus obras.
