Exodus 2:20

And he said unto his daughters, and where is he?
&c.] By the account Reuel's daughters gave of Moses, of his courage and humanity, he was very desirous of seeing him:

why [is it] that ye have left the man?
behind them at the well, and had not brought him along with them; he seemed to be displeased, and chides them, and tacitly suggests that they were rude and ungrateful not to ask a stranger, and one that had been so kind to them, to come with them and refresh himself:

call him, that he may eat bread;
take meat with them, bread being put for all provisions.

18 Cuando las muchachas volvieron a la casa de Reuel, su padre, este les preguntó:—¿Por qué volvieron hoy tan temprano?
19 —Porque un egipcio nos libró de los pastores —le respondieron—. ¡Hasta nos sacó el agua del pozo y dio de beber al rebaño!
20 —¿Y dónde está ese hombre? —les contestó—. ¿Por qué lo dejaron solo? ¡Invítenlo a comer!
21 Moisés convino en quedarse a vivir en casa de aquel hombre, quien le dio por esposa a su hija Séfora.
22 Ella tuvo un hijo, y Moisés le puso por nombre Guersón, pues razonó: «Soy un extranjero en tierra extraña».
