Ezequiel 5:2-12

2 Cuando se cumplan los días del sitio, quemarás en medio de la ciudad una tercera parte del cabello; otra tercera parte la cortarás con la espada alrededor de la ciudad, y la parte restante la esparcirás al viento. Yo, por mi parte, desenvainaré la espada y perseguiré a sus habitantes.

3 Toma algunos de los cabellos y átalos al borde de tu manto.

4 Luego toma otros pocos y arrójalos en el fuego para que se quemen. Desde allí se extenderá el fuego sobre todo el pueblo de Israel.

5 »Así dice el SEÑOR omnipotente: Esta es la ciudad de Jerusalén. Yo la coloqué en medio de las naciones y de los territorios a su alrededor.

6 Pero ella se rebeló contra mis leyes y decretos, con una perversidad mayor a la de las naciones y territorios vecinos. En otras palabras, rechazó por completo mis leyes y decretos.

7 »Por eso yo, el SEÑOR omnipotente, declaro: Ustedes han sido más rebeldes que las naciones a su alrededor; no han seguido mis decretos ni obedecido mis leyes, y ni siquiera se han sujetado a las costumbres de esas naciones.

8 Por lo tanto yo, el SEÑOR omnipotente, declaro: Estoy contra ti, Jerusalén, y te voy a castigar a la vista de todas las naciones.

9 Por causa de tus prácticas detestables, haré contigo lo que jamás he hecho ni volveré a hacer.

10 Entre ustedes habrá padres que se comerán a sus hijos, y también hijos que se comerán a sus padres. Yo los castigaré, y a quien sobreviva lo dispersaré por los cuatro vientos.

11 »Por esta razón yo, el SEÑOR omnipotente, juro por mí mismo: Como ustedes han profanado mi santuario con sus ídolos repugnantes y con prácticas detestables, yo los destruiré sin misericordia y sin piedad.

12 Una tercera parte de tu pueblo morirá en tus calles por la peste y por el hambre; otra tercera parte caerá a filo de espada en tus alrededores, y a la tercera parte restante la dispersaré por los cuatro vientos. Yo desenvainaré la espada y perseguiré a la gente.

INTRODUCTION TO EZEKIEL 5

This chapter is of the same argument with the former; and contains a type of Jerusalem's destruction; an explanation of that type; what were the reasons of God's judgments on that city; and the nature, rise, and end of them. The type is in Eze 5:1-4; the explanation of that type is in Eze 5:5; the reasons of the severe judgments threatened are changing the statutes of the Lord, and not walking in them, and defiling the sanctuary with their abominations, Eze 5:6-11; an account of the judgments of God, answerable to each of the parts in the type, Eze 5:12; the ends of these judgments are, with respect to God, the accomplishment of his anger, and the satisfaction of his justice; with respect to the Jews, bringing them to an acknowledgment that he had spoken in his zeal; and, with respect to the nations, their instruction and astonishment, Eze 5:13-15; and the chapter is concluded with an assurance that these judgments would be sent, Eze 5:16,17.
