Jeremías 40:12

12 Entonces todos estos judíos regresaron a la tierra de Judá, de todos los países donde estaban dispersos. Al llegar, se presentaron en Mizpa ante Guedalías, y también almacenaron vino y frutos de verano en abundancia.

Jeremiah 40:12

Even all the Jews returned from all places whither they were
driven
Through fear of the Chaldean army; they came all of them from the several countries before mentioned; so that here was like to be a happy settlement and a flourishing commonwealth again; here being princes and generals, soldiers and common people, in large numbers, that were returned and coalesced under the government of Gedaliah: and came to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah, unto Mizpah;
they came out of the several countries where they had been for some time, and entered the land of Judah; but did not take up their abode anywhere, till they had presented themselves to the governor, and put themselves under his protection; promising, no doubt, to regard him as such, and to be tributary to the Chaldeans; being assured by him, as the generals and their forces before, that all would be well with them, giving them free liberty to settle in the cities and villages to which they belonged; and accordingly they set out from Mizpah, and went to their respective habitations they had abandoned: and gathered wine and summer fruits very much;

11 Todos los judíos que estaban en Moab, Amón y Edom, y en todos los otros países, se enteraron también de que el rey de Babilonia había dejado un remanente en Judá, y nombrado como gobernador a Guedalías hijo de Ajicán, nieto de Safán.

12 Entonces todos estos judíos regresaron a la tierra de Judá, de todos los países donde estaban dispersos. Al llegar, se presentaron en Mizpa ante Guedalías, y también almacenaron vino y frutos de verano en abundancia.

13 Johanán hijo de Carea, y todos los demás jefes militares que estaban en el campo, se presentaron ante Guedalías en Mizpa,

14 y le dijeron:—¿No sabes que Balís, rey de Amón, ha mandado a Ismael hijo de Netanías, para matarte?Pero Guedalías hijo de Ajicán no les creyó.
