Luke 23:25

And he released unto them, him
Barabbas, who is not named, as being a detestable person, and unworthy to be named; and is therefore described by the infamous, though just character of him, as follows:

that for sedition and murder was cast into prison,
as in ( Luke 23:19 )

whom they had desired;
to be granted to them, and released; see ( Acts 3:14 )

but he delivered Jesus to their will;
to do as they would with him, to mock, and scourge, and crucify him.

23 Pero a voz en cuello ellos siguieron insistiendo en que lo crucificara, y con sus gritos se impusieron.

24 Por fin Pilato decidió concederles su demanda:

25 soltó al hombre que le pedían, el que por insurrección y homicidio había sido echado en la cárcel, y dejó que hicieran con Jesús lo que quisieran.

26 Cuando se lo llevaban, echaron mano de un tal Simón de Cirene, que volvía del campo, y le cargaron la cruz para que la llevara detrás de Jesús.

27 Lo seguía mucha gente del pueblo, incluso mujeres que se golpeaban el pecho, lamentándose por él.
