Acab, rey de Israel

29 En el a帽o treinta y ocho de As谩, rey de Jud谩, Acab hijo de Omr铆 ascendi贸 al trono, y rein贸 sobre Israel en Samaria veintid贸s a帽os.
30 Acab hijo de Omr铆 hizo lo que ofende al SE脩OR, m谩s que todos los reyes que lo precedieron.
31 Como si hubiera sido poco el cometer los mismos pecados de Jerobo谩n hijo de Nabat, tambi茅n se cas贸 con Jezabel hija de Et Baal, rey de los sidonios, y se dedic贸 a servir a Baal y a adorarlo.
32 Le erigi贸 un altar en el templo que le hab铆a construido en Samaria,
33 y tambi茅n fabric贸 una imagen de la diosa Aser谩. En fin, hizo m谩s para provocar la ira del SE脩OR, Dios de Israel, que todos los reyes de Israel que lo precedieron.
34 En tiempos de Acab, Jiel de Betel reconstruy贸 Jeric贸. Ech贸 los cimientos al precio de la vida de Abir谩n, su hijo mayor, y puso las puertas al precio de la vida de Segub, su hijo menor, seg煤n la palabra que el SE脩OR hab铆a dado a conocer por medio de Josu茅 hijo de Nun.

INTRODUCTION TO 1 KINGS 16

This chapter contains a prophecy of the ruin of the family of Baasha, and an account of his death, 1Ki 16:1-7, and of his son's reigning in his stead two years, who was slain by Zimri one of his captains, 1Ki 16:8-14, and who reigned but seven days, 1Ki 16:15-20, and the people being divided between Tibni and Omri, the party for the latter prevailed, and he was made king, and reigned twelve years, 1Ki 16:21-28, and was succeeded by his son Ahab, a very wicked prince, 1Ki 16:29-33, and the chapter is concluded with the rebuilding of Jericho, 1Ki 16:34.
