7 Foi naquele dia que, pela primeira vez, Davi encarregou Asafe e seus parentes de louvarem o SENHOR com salmos de gratidão:

The ark was brought to Zion, and the above persons appointed to minister before it:

David delivered first this psalm to thank the Lord into the hand of
Asaph and his brethren
to be sung by them now, and on every proper occasion; and this seems to be the first that was delivered to them; afterwards there were many more, as the titles of the psalms show; the following is composed of part of two others, as they now stand in the book of Psalms. 5 Desses, Asafe era o chefe, Zacarias vinha em seguida, e depois Jeiel, Semiramote, Jeiel, Matitias, Eliabe, Benaia, Obede-Edom e Jeiel. Eles deviam tocar lira e harpa enquanto Asafe tocava os címbalos.

6 Os sacerdotes Benaia e Jaaziel deviam tocar diariamente as trombetas diante da arca da aliança de Deus.

8 “Deem graças ao SENHOR, clamem pelo seu nome,divulguem entre as nações o que ele tem feito.

9 Cantem para ele, louvem-no;contem todos os seus atos maravilhosos.
