20 e cada um matou o seu adversário. Diante disso, os arameus fugiram, perseguidos pelos israelitas. Mas Ben-Hadade, rei da Síria, escapou a cavalo com alguns de seus cavaleiros.

1 Kings 20:20

And they slew everyone his man
The Syrian army, or at least a body of men detached from them, met them, opposed them, and fought them, and they slew of them 7232 men; as many as they themselves were:

and the Syrians fled;
not expecting such a rebuff:

and Israel pursued them;
to make some further advantage of their victory:

and Benhadad the king of Syria escaped on an horse, with the horsemen;
with two couple of horsemen, as the Targum; with these to guard him he galloped away as fast as he could for his life.

18 Ele disse: “Quer tenham saído para a paz quer para a guerra, tragam-nos vivos”.
19 Os jovens soldados dos líderes das províncias marcharam para fora da cidade, com o exército na retaguarda,
20 e cada um matou o seu adversário. Diante disso, os arameus fugiram, perseguidos pelos israelitas. Mas Ben-Hadade, rei da Síria, escapou a cavalo com alguns de seus cavaleiros.
21 O rei de Israel avançou e matou os cavalos e destruiu os carros de guerra e infligiu pesadas baixas aos arameus.
22 Depois disso, o profeta foi ao rei de Israel e disse: “Fortaleça a sua posição e veja o que deve ser feito, pois na próxima primavera o rei da Síria o atacará de novo”.
