But Jezebel his wife came unto him, and said, why is thy spirit
so sad, that thou eatest no bread?
] She perceived he was low spirited, and supposed he had met with something that had ruffled him, and made him so uneasy that he could not eat his food; and she desired to know what it was, that she might relieve him if possible.

3 Nabote, contudo, respondeu: “O SENHOR me livre de dar a ti a herança dos meus pais!”
4 Então Acabe foi para casa aborrecido e indignado porque Nabote, de Jezreel, lhe dissera: “Não te darei a herança dos meus pais”. Deitou-se na cama, virou o rosto para a parede e recusou-se a comer.
5 Jezabel, sua mulher, entrou e lhe perguntou: “Por que vocĂȘ estĂĄ tĂŁo aborrecido? Por que nĂŁo come?”
6 Ele respondeu-lhe: “Porque eu disse a Nabote, de Jezreel: ‘Venda-me a sua vinha; ou, se preferir, eu darei a vocĂȘ outra vinha no lugar dessa’. Mas ele disse: ‘NĂŁo te darei minha vinha’.”
7 Disse-lhe Jezabel, sua mulher: “É assim que vocĂȘ age como rei de Israel? Levante-se e coma! Anime-se. Conseguirei para vocĂȘ a vinha de Nabote, de Jezreel”.
