2 Chronicles 15:14

And they sware unto the Lord with a loud voice
As not being ashamed of the oath they took, and that there might be witnesses of it, and that it might be clear they did not equivocate in but expressed themselves in plain words:

and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets;
showing that the oath was not extorted from them unwillingly, but that they took it with the utmost cheerfulness, and with all the demonstrations of joy and gladness imaginable.

12 Fizeram um acordo de todo o coração e de toda a alma de buscar o SENHOR, o Deus dos seus antepassados.

13 Todo aquele que não buscasse o SENHOR, o Deus de Israel, deveria ser morto, gente simples ou importante, homem ou mulher.

14 Fizeram esse juramento ao SENHOR em alta voz, bradando ao som de cornetas e trombetas.

15 Todo o povo de Judá alegrou-se com o juramento, pois o havia feito de todo o coração. Eles buscaram a Deus com a melhor disposição; ele deixou que o encontrassem e lhes concedeu paz em suas fronteiras.

16 O rei Asa chegou até a depor sua avó Maaca da posição de rainha-mãe, pois ela havia feito um poste sagrado repugnante. Asa derrubou o poste, despedaçou-o e queimou-o no vale do Cedrom.
