Revelation 18:18

And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning

saying, what city is like unto this great city?
as before for magnificence and grandeur, so now for sorrow, desolation, and ruin; nor was any city like it for power and authority, for pride and luxury, for idolatry and superstition, blasphemy and impenitence; the like the sailors say of Tyre, ( Ezekiel 27:30 ) from whence this and other expressions are borrowed in this lamentation.

16 gritando:“ ‘Ai! A grande cidade,vestida de linho fino,de roupas de pĂșrpurae vestes vermelhas,adornada de ouro,pedras preciosas e pĂ©rolas!
17 Em apenas uma hora,tamanha riquezafoi arruinada!’“Todos os pilotos, todos os passageiros e marinheiros dos navios e todos os que ganham a vida no mar ficarão de longe.

19 Lançarão pó sobre a cabeça e, lamentando-se e chorando, gritarão:“ ‘Ai! A grande cidade!Graças à sua riqueza, nela prosperaramtodos os que tinham navios no mar!Em apenas uma horaela ficou em ruínas!
20 “ ‘Celebrem o que se deu com ela, Ăł cĂ©us!Celebrem, Ăł santos, apĂłstolose profetas!Deus a julgou, retribuindo-lheo que ela fez a vocĂȘs’.”
