Ezequiel 20:16

16 porque eles rejeitaram as minhas leis, não agiram segundo os meus decretos e profanaram os meus sábados. Pois os seus corações estavam voltados para os seus ídolos.

Ezekiel 20:16

Because they despised my judgments, and walked not in my
statutes, but polluted my sabbaths
Which were just causes of divine resentment and anger; (See Gill on Ezekiel 20:13); for their heart went after their idols;
which they had served in Egypt; and that led them off from the true worship and service of God; no man can serve two masters; if he holds to the one, and his heart is towards him, he will despise the other; and yet these idols were no other, as the word signifies, than dunghill gods, as in ( Ezekiel 20:16 ) ; and such are all worldly things, in comparison of God, that the heart of man is going after.

14 Mas, por amor do meu nome, eu agi, evitando que o meu nome fosse profanado aos olhos das nações à vista das quais eu os havia tirado do Egito.

15 Com mão erguida, também jurei a eles que não os levaria para a terra que eu lhes dei, terra onde há leite e mel com fartura, a mais linda de todas as terras,

16 porque eles rejeitaram as minhas leis, não agiram segundo os meus decretos e profanaram os meus sábados. Pois os seus corações estavam voltados para os seus ídolos.

17 Olhei, porém, para eles com piedade e não os destruí, não os exterminei no deserto.

18 Eu disse aos filhos deles no deserto: Não sigam as normas dos seus pais nem obedeçam às leis deles nem se contaminem com os seus ídolos.
