Ezekiel 20:17

Nevertheless, mine eye spared them from destroying them
Utterly, so as to leave neither root nor branch; for though the whole generation died excepting two, either by the immediate hand of God in wrath, or else by ordinary deaths; yet there was a generation raised up in their stead, to whom mercy was shown: neither did I make an end of them in the wilderness;
that they should be no more a nation and people; though the carcasses of them that believed not fell in the wilderness, and never saw the good land, yet their posterity was spared to see it, and did.

15 Com mão erguida, também jurei a eles que não os levaria para a terra que eu lhes dei, terra onde há leite e mel com fartura, a mais linda de todas as terras,

16 porque eles rejeitaram as minhas leis, não agiram segundo os meus decretos e profanaram os meus sábados. Pois os seus corações estavam voltados para os seus ídolos.

17 Olhei, porém, para eles com piedade e não os destruí, não os exterminei no deserto.

18 Eu disse aos filhos deles no deserto: Não sigam as normas dos seus pais nem obedeçam às leis deles nem se contaminem com os seus ídolos.

19 Eu sou o SENHOR, o seu Deus; ajam conforme os meus decretos e tenham o cuidado de obedecer às minhas leis.
