13 Você tem tantos deuses quantas são as suas cidades, ó Judá; e os altares que você construiu para queimar incenso àquela coisa vergonhosa chamada Baal são tantos quantas são as ruas de Jerusalém.

Jeremiah 11:13

For according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O
Judah (See Gill on Jeremiah 2:28), and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem;
of which there were many, and some of note ^F9: have ye set up altars to that shameful thing, even altars to burn
incense unto Baal;
one of whose names is Bosheth, "shame"; see ( Hosea 9:10 ) , hence Jerubbaal is called, in ( 2 Samuel 11:21 ) , Jerubbesheth; very properly is this name given to Baal, not only because the worship of him was to the reproach of the true God, but brought shame and confusion in the issue to its worshipper; as well as because shameful things were done in the worship of it, especially of Baalpeor; who seems to be the same with the Priapus of other nations.

11 Por isso, assim diz o SENHOR: “Trarei sobre eles uma desgraça da qual não poderão escapar. Ainda que venham a clamar a mim, eu não os ouvirei.

12 Então as cidades de Judá e os habitantes de Jerusalém clamarão aos deuses aos quais queimam incenso, mas eles não poderão salvá-los quando a desgraça os atingir.

13 Você tem tantos deuses quantas são as suas cidades, ó Judá; e os altares que você construiu para queimar incenso àquela coisa vergonhosa chamada Baal são tantos quantas são as ruas de Jerusalém.

14 “E você, Jeremias, não ore em favor deste povo nem ofereça súplica ou petição alguma por eles, porque eu não ouvirei quando clamarem a mim na hora da desgraça.

15 “O que a minha amada faz no meu templocom intenção enganosa?Será que os votos e a carne consagrada evitarão o castigo?Poderá você, então, exultar?”
