Jeremiah 38:21

But if thou refuse to go forth
Out of Jerusalem, to the Chaldean army, and submit to them: this [is] the word that the Lord hath showed me,
or the thing which should certainly come to pass; the word of prophecy the Lord had showed to the prophet, and which he now declares to the king; who asked of him a word, was desirous to know whether there was a word from the Lord, and what it was; and this it is which follows, in case he continued impenitent, obstinate, and disobedient.

19 O rei Zedequias disse a Jeremias: “Tenho medo dos judeus que estão apoiando os babilônios, pois os babilônios poderão entregar-me nas mãos deles, e eles me maltratarão”.

20 “Eles não o entregarão”, Jeremias respondeu. “Obedeça ao SENHOR fazendo o que eu digo, para que tudo corra bem a você e a sua vida seja poupada.

21 Mas, se você não quiser render-se, foi isto que o SENHOR me revelou:

22 Todas as mulheres deixadas no palácio real de Judá serão levadas aos oficiais do rei da Babilônia. E elas dirão a você:“ ‘Aqueles teus amigos de confiançate enganaram e prevaleceram sobre ti.Teus pés estão atolados na lama;teus amigos te abandonaram’.

23 “Todas as suas mulheres e os seus filhos serão levados aos babilônios. Você mesmo não escapará das mãos deles, mas será capturado pelo rei da Babilônia; e esta cidade será incendiada”.
