2 Chronicles 4

RHE 1 He made also an altar of brass twenty cubits long, and twenty cubits broad, and ten cubits high. NIV 1 He made a bronze altar twenty cubits long, twenty cubits wide and ten cubits high. RHE 2 Also a molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round in compass: it was five cubits high, and a line of thirty cubits compassed it round about. NIV 2 He made the Sea of cast metal, circular in shape, measuring ten cubits from rim to rim and five cubits high. It took a line of thirty cubits to measure around it. RHE 3 And under it there was the likeness of oxen, and certain engravings on the outside of ten cubits compassed the belly of the sea, as it were with two rows. NIV 3 Below the rim, figures of bulls encircled it—ten to a cubit. The bulls were cast in two rows in one piece with the Sea. RHE 4 And the oxen were cast: and the sea itself was set upon the twelve oxen, three of which looked toward the north, and other three toward the west: and other three toward the south, and the other three that remained toward the east, and the sea stood upon them: and the hinder parts of the oxen were inward under the sea. NIV 4 The Sea stood on twelve bulls, three facing north, three facing west, three facing south and three facing east. The Sea rested on top of them, and their hindquarters were toward the center. RHE 5 Now the thickness of it was a handbreadth, and the brim of it was like the brim of a cup, or of a crisped lily: and it held three thousand measures. NIV 5 It was a handbreadth in thickness, and its rim was like the rim of a cup, like a lily blossom. It held three thousand baths. RHE 6 He made also ten lavers: and he set five on the right hand, and five on the left, to wash in them all such things as they were to offer for holocausts: but the sea was for the priests to wash in. NIV 6 He then made ten basins for washing and placed five on the south side and five on the north. In them the things to be used for the burnt offerings were rinsed, but the Sea was to be used by the priests for washing. RHE 7 And he made ten golden candlesticks, according to the form which they were commanded to be made by: and he set them in the temple, five on the right hand, and five on the left. NIV 7 He made ten gold lampstands according to the specifications for them and placed them in the temple, five on the south side and five on the north. RHE 8 Moreover also ten tables: and he set them in the temple, five on the right side, and five on the left. Also a hundred bowls of gold. NIV 8 He made ten tables and placed them in the temple, five on the south side and five on the north. He also made a hundred gold sprinkling bowls. RHE 9 He made also the court of the priests, and a great hall, and doors in the hall, which he covered with brass. NIV 9 He made the courtyard of the priests, and the large court and the doors for the court, and overlaid the doors with bronze. RHE 10 And he set the sea on the right side over against the east toward the south. NIV 10 He placed the Sea on the south side, at the southeast corner. RHE 11 And Hiram made caldrons, and fleshhooks, and bowls: and finished all the king’s work the house of God: NIV 11 And Huram also made the pots and shovels and sprinkling bowls. So Huram finished the work he had undertaken for King Solomon in the temple of God: RHE 12 That is to say, the two pillars, and the pommels, and the chapiters, and the network, to cover the chapiters over the pommels. NIV 12 the two pillars; the two bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars; the two sets of network decorating the two bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars; RHE 13 And four hundred pomegranates, and two wreaths of network, so that two rows of pomegranates were joined to each wreath, to cover the pommels, and the chapiters of the pillars. NIV 13 the four hundred pomegranates for the two sets of network (two rows of pomegranates for each network, decorating the bowl-shaped capitals on top of the pillars); RHE 14 He made also bases, and lavers, which he set upon the bases: NIV 14 the stands with their basins; RHE 15 One sea, and twelve oxen under the sea; NIV 15 the Sea and the twelve bulls under it; RHE 16 And the caldrons, and fleshhooks, and bowls. All the vessels did Hiram his father make for Solomon in the house of the Lord of the finest brass. NIV 16 the pots, shovels, meat forks and all related articles. All the objects that Huram-Abi made for King Solomon for the temple of the LORD were of polished bronze. RHE 17 In the country near the Jordan did the king cast them, in a clay ground between Sochot and Saredatha. NIV 17 The king had them cast in clay molds in the plain of the Jordan between Sukkoth and Zarethan. RHE 18 And the multitude of vessels was innumerable, so that the weight of the brass was not known. NIV 18 All these things that Solomon made amounted to so much that the weight of the bronze could not be calculated. RHE 19 And Solomon made all the vessels for the house of God, and the golden altar, and the tables, upon which were the loaves of proposition, NIV 19 Solomon also made all the furnishings that were in God’s temple: the golden altar; the tables on which was the bread of the Presence; RHE 20 The candlesticks also of most pure gold with their lamps to give light before the oracle, according to the manner. NIV 20 the lampstands of pure gold with their lamps, to burn in front of the inner sanctuary as prescribed; RHE 21 And certain flowers, and lamps, and golden tongs: all were made of the finest gold. NIV 21 the gold floral work and lamps and tongs (they were solid gold); RHE 22 The vessels also for the perfumes, and the censers, and the bowls, and the mortars, of pure gold. And he graved the doors of the inner temple, that is, for the holy of holies: and the doors of the temple without were of gold. And thus all the work was finished which Solomon made in the house of the Lord. NIV 22 the pure gold wick trimmers, sprinkling bowls, dishes and censers; and the gold doors of the temple: the inner doors to the Most Holy Place and the doors of the main hall.
