CEB 1 Jesus said to his disciples, "Things that cause people to trip and fall into sin must happen, but how terrible it is for the person through whom they happen. CEB 8 Wouldn't you say instead, ‘Fix my dinner. Put on the clothes of a table servant and wait on me while I eat and drink. After that, you can eat and drink'? NRS 8 Would you not rather say to him, "Prepare supper for me, put on your apron and serve me while I eat and drink; later you may eat and drink'? CEB 9 You won't thank the servant because the servant did what you asked, will you? NRS 9 Do you thank the slave for doing what was commanded? CEB 10 In the same way, when you have done everything required of you, you should say, ‘We servants deserve no special praise. We have only done our duty.'" NRS 10 So you also, when you have done all that you were ordered to do, say, "We are worthless slaves; we have done only what we ought to have done!' " CEB 11 On the way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. NRS 11 On the way to Jerusalem Jesus was going through the region between Samaria and Galilee. NRS 16 He prostrated himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him. And he was a Samaritan. CEB 17 Jesus replied, "Weren't ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? NRS 17 Then Jesus asked, "Were not ten made clean? But the other nine, where are they? CEB 18 No one returned to praise God except this foreigner?" CEB 23 People will say to you, ‘Look there!' or ‘Look here!' Don't leave or go chasing after them. NRS 23 They will say to you, "Look there!' or "Look here!' Do not go, do not set off in pursuit. CEB 24 The Human One will appear on his day in the same way that a flash of lightning lights up the sky from one end to the other. NRS 24 For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his day. CEB 25 However, first he must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. NRS 25 But first he must endure much suffering and be rejected by this generation. CEB 26 "As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be during the days of the Human One. NRS 26 Just as it was in the days of Noah, so too it will be in the days of the Son of Man. CEB 27 People were eating, drinking, marrying, and being given in marriage until the day Noah entered the ark and the flood came and destroyed them all. NRS 27 They were eating and drinking, and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed all of them.
