Psalm 1

NRSA 1 Happy are those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path that sinners tread, or sit in the seat of scoffers; NIV 1 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, NRSA 2 but their delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law they meditate day and night. NIV 2 but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. NRSA 3 They are like trees planted by streams of water, which yield their fruit in its season, and their leaves do not wither. In all that they do, they prosper. NIV 3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. NRSA 4 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff that the wind drives away. NIV 4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. NRSA 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous; NIV 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. NRSA 6 for the Lord watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish. NIV 6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.
