Psalm 120

CEB 1 I cried out to the LORD when I was in trouble (and he answered me): NRS 1 In my distress I cry to the Lord, that he may answer me: CEB 2 "LORD, deliver me from lying lips and a dishonest tongue!" NRS 2 "Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue." CEB 3 What more will be given to you, what more will be done to you, you dishonest tongue? NRS 3 What shall be given to you? And what more shall be done to you, you deceitful tongue? CEB 4 Just this: a warrior's sharpened arrows, coupled with burning coals from a wood fire! NRS 4 A warrior's sharp arrows, with glowing coals of the broom tree! CEB 5 Oh, I'm doomed because I have been an immigrant in Meshech, because I've made my home among Kedar's tents. NRS 5 Woe is me, that I am an alien in Meshech, that I must live among the tents of Kedar. CEB 6 I've lived far too long with people who hate peace. NRS 6 Too long have I had my dwelling among those who hate peace. CEB 7 I'm for peace, but when I speak, they are for war. NRS 7 I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war.
