Psalm 3

WBT 1 A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son. LORD, how are they multiplied that trouble me? many [are] they that rise up against me. NIV 1 LORD, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me! WBT 2 Many [there are] who say of my soul, [There is] no help for him in God. Selah. NIV 2 Many are saying of me, “God will not deliver him.” WBT 3 But thou, O LORD, [art] a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of my head. NIV 3 But you, LORD, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. WBT 4 I cried to the LORD with my voice, and he heard me from his holy hill. Selah. NIV 4 I call out to the LORD, and he answers me from his holy mountain. WBT 5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me. NIV 5 I lie down and sleep; I wake again, because the LORD sustains me. WBT 6 I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set [themselves] against me on all sides. NIV 6 I will not fear though tens of thousands assail me on every side. WBT 7 Arise, O LORD; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all my enemies [upon] the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly. NIV 7 Arise, LORD! Deliver me, my God! Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked. WBT 8 Salvation [belongeth] to the LORD: thy blessing [is] upon thy people. Selah. NIV 8 From the LORD comes deliverance. May your blessing be on your people.
