Psalm 62

NLT 1 I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. NIV 1 Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. NLT 2 He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken. NIV 2 Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. NLT 3 So many enemies against one man— all of them trying to kill me. To them I’m just a broken-down wall or a tottering fence. NIV 3 How long will you assault me? Would all of you throw me down— this leaning wall, this tottering fence? NLT 4 They plan to topple me from my high position. They delight in telling lies about me. They praise me to my face but curse me in their hearts. Interlude NIV 4 Surely they intend to topple me from my lofty place; they take delight in lies. With their mouths they bless, but in their hearts they curse. NLT 5 Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. NIV 5 Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. NLT 6 He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. NIV 6 Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. NLT 7 My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me. NIV 7 My salvation and my honor depend on God ; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. NLT 8 O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge. Interlude NIV 8 Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. NLT 9 Common people are as worthless as a puff of wind, and the powerful are not what they appear to be. If you weigh them on the scales, together they are lighter than a breath of air. NIV 9 Surely the lowborn are but a breath, the highborn are but a lie. If weighed on a balance, they are nothing; together they are only a breath. NLT 10 Don’t make your living by extortion or put your hope in stealing. And if your wealth increases, don’t make it the center of your life. NIV 10 Do not trust in extortion or put vain hope in stolen goods; though your riches increase, do not set your heart on them. NLT 11 God has spoken plainly, and I have heard it many times: Power, O God, belongs to you; NIV 11 One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard: “Power belongs to you, God, NLT 12 unfailing love, O Lord, is yours. Surely you repay all people according to what they have done. NIV 12 and with you, Lord, is unfailing love”; and, “You reward everyone according to what they have done.”
