Psalm 76

KJVA 1 In Judah is God known : his name is great in Israel. NIV 1 God is renowned in Judah; in Israel his name is great. KJVA 2 In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion. NIV 2 His tent is in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion. KJVA 3 There brake he the arrows of the bow, the shield, and the sword, and the battle. Selah. NIV 3 There he broke the flashing arrows, the shields and the swords, the weapons of war. KJVA 4 Thou art more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey. NIV 4 You are radiant with light, more majestic than mountains rich with game. KJVA 5 The stouthearted are spoiled , they have slept their sleep: and none of the men of might have found their hands. NIV 5 The valiant lie plundered, they sleep their last sleep; not one of the warriors can lift his hands. KJVA 6 At thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep . NIV 6 At your rebuke, God of Jacob, both horse and chariot lie still. KJVA 7 Thou, even thou, art to be feared : and who may stand in thy sight when once thou art angry? NIV 7 It is you alone who are to be feared. Who can stand before you when you are angry? KJVA 8 Thou didst cause judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared , and was still , NIV 8 From heaven you pronounced judgment, and the land feared and was quiet— KJVA 9 When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek of the earth. Selah. NIV 9 when you, God, rose up to judge, to save all the afflicted of the land. KJVA 10 Surely the wrath of man shall praise thee: the remainder of wrath shalt thou restrain . NIV 10 Surely your wrath against mankind brings you praise, and the survivors of your wrath are restrained. KJVA 11 Vow , and pay unto the LORD your God: let all that be round about him bring presents unto him that ought to be feared. NIV 11 Make vows to the LORD your God and fulfill them; let all the neighboring lands bring gifts to the One to be feared. KJVA 12 He shall cut off the spirit of princes: he is terrible to the kings of the earth. NIV 12 He breaks the spirit of rulers; he is feared by the kings of the earth.
