1 Y uno de los siete ángeles que tenían las siete copas, vino y habló conmigo, diciendo: Ven; te mostraré el juicio de la gran ramera que está sentada sobre muchas aguas;

2 con ella los reyes de la tierra cometieron actos inmorales, y los moradores de la tierra fueron embriagados con el vino de su inmoralidad.

3 Y me llevó en el Espíritu a un desierto; y vi a una mujer sentada sobre una bestia escarlata, llena de nombres blasfemos, y que tenía siete cabezas y diez cuernos.

4 La mujer estaba vestida de púrpura y escarlata, y adornada con oro, piedras preciosas y perlas, y tenía en la mano una copa de oro llena de abominaciones y de las inmundicias de su inmoralidad,

5 y sobre su frente había un nombre escrito, un misterio: BABILONIA LA GRANDE, LA MADRE DE LAS RAMERAS Y DE LAS ABOMINACIONES DE LA TIERRA.

6 Y vi a la mujer ebria de la sangre de los santos, y de la sangre de los testigos de Jesús. Y al verla, me asombré grandemente.

7 Y el ángel me dijo: ¿Por qué te has asombrado? Yo te diré el misterio de la mujer y de la bestia que la lleva, la que tiene las siete cabezas y los diez cuernos.

8 La bestia que viste, era y no es, y está para subir del abismo e ir a la destrucción. Y los moradores de la tierra, cuyos nombres no se han escrito en el libro de la vida desde la fundación del mundo, se asombrarán al ver la bestia que era y no es, y que vendrá.

9 Aquí está la mente que tiene sabiduría. Las siete cabezas son siete montes sobre los que se sienta la mujer;

10 y son siete reyes; cinco han caído, uno es y el otro aún no ha venido; y cuando venga, es necesario que permanezca un poco de tiempo.

11 Y la bestia que era y no es, es el octavo rey, y es uno de los siete y va a la destrucción.

12 Y los diez cuernos que viste son diez reyes que todavía no han recibido reino, pero que por una hora reciben autoridad como reyes con la bestia.

13 Estos tienen un mismo propósito, y entregarán su poder y autoridad a la bestia.

14 Estos pelearán contra el Cordero, y el Cordero los vencerá, porque El es Señor de señores y Rey de reyes, y los que están con El son llamados, escogidos y fieles.

15 Y me dijo<***>: Las aguas que viste donde se sienta la ramera, son pueblos, multitudes, naciones y lenguas.

16 Y los diez cuernos que viste y la bestia, éstos odiarán a la ramera y la dejarán desolada y desnuda, y comerán sus carnes y la quemarán con fuego;

17 porque Dios ha puesto en sus corazones el ejecutar su propósito: que tengan ellos un propósito unánime, y den su reino a la bestia hasta que las palabras de Dios se cumplan.

18 Y la mujer que viste es la gran ciudad, que reina sobre los reyes de la tierra.

1 One of the Seven Angels who carried the seven bowls came and invited me, "Come, I'll show you the judgment of the great Whore who sits enthroned over many waters,

2 the Whore with whom the kings of the earth have gone whoring, show you the judgment on earth dwellers drunk on her whorish lust."

3 In the Spirit he carried me out in the desert. I saw a woman mounted on a Scarlet Beast. Stuffed with blasphemies, the Beast had seven heads and ten horns.

4 The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet, festooned with gold and gems and pearls. She held a gold chalice in her hand, brimming with defiling obscenities, her foul fornications.

5 A riddle-name was branded on her forehead: great babylon, mother of whores and abominations of the earth.

6 I could see that the woman was drunk, drunk on the blood of God's holy people, drunk on the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.

7 The Angel said, "Does this surprise you? Let me tell you the riddle of the woman and the Beast she rides, the Beast with seven heads and ten horns.

8 The Beast you saw once was, is no longer, and is about to ascend from the Abyss and head straight for Hell. Earth dwellers whose names weren't written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world will be dazzled when they see the Beast that once was, is no longer, and is to come.

9 "But don't drop your guard. Use your head. The seven heads are seven hills; they are where the woman sits.

10 They are also seven kings: five dead, one living, the other not yet here - and when he does come his time will be brief.

11 The Beast that once was and is no longer is both an eighth and one of the seven - and headed for Hell.

12 "The ten horns you saw are ten kings, but they're not yet in power. They will come to power with the Scarlet Beast, but won't last long - a very brief reign.

13 These kings will agree to turn over their power and authority to the Beast.

14 They will go to war against the Lamb but the Lamb will defeat them, proof that he is Lord over all lords, King over all kings, and those with him will be the called, chosen, and faithful."

15 The Angel continued, "The waters you saw on which the Whore was enthroned are peoples and crowds, nations and languages.

16 And the ten horns you saw, together with the Beast, will turn on the Whore - they'll hate her, violate her, strip her naked, rip her apart with their teeth, then set fire to her.

17 It was God who put the idea in their heads to turn over their rule to the Beast until the words of God are completed.

18 The woman you saw is the great city, tyrannizing the kings of the earth."
