1 Entonces Dios dijo a Moisés: Sube hacia el SEÑOR, tú y Aarón, Nadab y Abiú, y setenta de los ancianos de Israel, y adoraréis desde lejos.

Then the LORD said to Moses, “Come up to the LORD, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel. You are to worship at a distance,
2 Sin embargo, Moisés se acercará solo al SEÑOR, y ellos no se acercarán, ni el pueblo subirá con él.

but Moses alone is to approach the LORD; the others must not come near. And the people may not come up with him.”
3 Y Moisés vino y contó al pueblo todas las palabras del SEÑOR y todas las ordenanzas; y todo el pueblo respondió a una voz, y dijo: Haremos todas las palabras que el SEÑOR ha dicho.

When Moses went and told the people all the LORD’s words and laws, they responded with one voice, “Everything the LORD has said we will do.”
4 Y Moisés escribió todas las palabras del SEÑOR. Levantándose muy de mañana, edificó un altar al pie del monte, con doce columnas por las doce tribus de Israel.

Moses then wrote down everything the LORD had said. He got up early the next morning and built an altar at the foot of the mountain and set up twelve stone pillars representing the twelve tribes of Israel.
5 Y envió jóvenes de los hijos de Israel, que ofrecieron holocaustos y sacrificaron novillos como ofrendas de paz al SEÑOR.

Then he sent young Israelite men, and they offered burnt offerings and sacrificed young bulls as fellowship offerings to the LORD.
6 Moisés tomó la mitad de la sangre y la puso en vasijas, y la otra mitad de la sangre la roció sobre el altar.

Moses took half of the blood and put it in bowls, and the other half he splashed against the altar.
7 Luego tomó el libro del pacto y lo leyó a oídos del pueblo, y ellos dijeron: Todo lo que el SEÑOR ha dicho haremos y obedeceremos.

Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it to the people. They responded, “We will do everything the LORD has said; we will obey.”
8 Entonces Moisés tomó la sangre y la roció sobre el pueblo, y dijo: He aquí la sangre del pacto que el SEÑOR ha hecho con vosotros, según todas estas palabras.

Moses then took the blood, sprinkled it on the people and said, “This is the blood of the covenant that the LORD has made with you in accordance with all these words.”
9 Y subió Moisés con Aarón, Nadab y Abiú, y setenta de los ancianos de Israel;

Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up
10 y vieron al Dios de Israel, y debajo de sus pies había como un embaldosado de zafiro, tan claro como el mismo cielo.

and saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was something like a pavement made of lapis lazuli, as bright blue as the sky.
11 Mas El no extendió su mano contra los príncipes de los hijos de Israel; y ellos vieron a Dios y comieron y bebieron.

But God did not raise his hand against these leaders of the Israelites; they saw God, and they ate and drank.
12 Y el SEÑOR dijo a Moisés: Sube hasta mí, al monte, y espera allí, y te daré las tablas de piedra con la ley y los mandamientos que he escrito para instrucción de ellos.

The LORD said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain and stay here, and I will give you the tablets of stone with the law and commandments I have written for their instruction.”
13 Y se levantó Moisés con Josué su ayudante, y subió Moisés al monte de Dios,

Then Moses set out with Joshua his aide, and Moses went up on the mountain of God.
14 y dijo a los ancianos: Esperadnos aquí hasta que volvamos a vosotros. Y he aquí, Aarón y Hur están con vosotros; el que tenga algún asunto legal, acuda a ellos.

He said to the elders, “Wait here for us until we come back to you. Aaron and Hur are with you, and anyone involved in a dispute can go to them.”
15 Entonces subió Moisés al monte, y la nube cubrió el monte.

When Moses went up on the mountain, the cloud covered it,
16 Y la gloria del SEÑOR reposó sobre el monte Sinaí, y la nube lo cubrió por seis días; y al séptimo día, Dios llamó a Moisés de en medio de la nube.

and the glory of the LORD settled on Mount Sinai. For six days the cloud covered the mountain, and on the seventh day the LORD called to Moses from within the cloud.
17 A los ojos de los hijos de Israel la apariencia de la gloria del SEÑOR era como un fuego consumidor sobre la cumbre del monte.

To the Israelites the glory of the LORD looked like a consuming fire on top of the mountain.
18 Y entró Moisés en medio de la nube, y subió al monte; y estuvo Moisés en el monte cuarenta días y cuarenta noches.

Then Moses entered the cloud as he went on up the mountain. And he stayed on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
