Exodus 30

JUB 1 In the same manner thou shalt make an altar to burn incense upon; of cedar wood shalt thou make it. NIV 1 “Make an altar of acacia wood for burning incense. JUB 2 Its length shall be a cubit and its width a cubit; it shall be square and its height two cubits; its horns shall be of the same. NIV 2 It is to be square, a cubit long and a cubit wide, and two cubits high —its horns of one piece with it. JUB 3 And thou shalt cover it with pure gold, its top and its sides round about, and its horns; and thou shalt make unto it a moulding of gold round about. NIV 3 Overlay the top and all the sides and the horns with pure gold, and make a gold molding around it. JUB 4 And two golden rings shalt thou make to it under its moulding by its two corners on both sides for places for the staves to bear it with. NIV 4 Make two gold rings for the altar below the molding—two on each of the opposite sides—to hold the poles used to carry it. JUB 5 And thou shalt make the staves of cedar wood and cover them with gold. NIV 5 Make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold. JUB 6 And thou shalt put it before the veil that is by the ark of the testimony, before the seat of reconciliation that is over the testimony, where I will testify unto thee of myself. NIV 6 Put the altar in front of the curtain that shields the ark of the covenant law—before the atonement cover that is over the tablets of the covenant law—where I will meet with you. JUB 7 And Aaron shall burn sweet incense thereon every morning; when he dresses the lamps, he shall burn it. NIV 7 “Aaron must burn fragrant incense on the altar every morning when he tends the lamps. JUB 8 And when Aaron lights the lamps at evening, he shall burn incense upon it continually before the LORD throughout your ages. NIV 8 He must burn incense again when he lights the lamps at twilight so incense will burn regularly before the LORD for the generations to come. JUB 9 Ye shall offer no strange incense thereon nor burnt sacrifice nor present; neither shall ye pour drink offering thereon. NIV 9 Do not offer on this altar any other incense or any burnt offering or grain offering, and do not pour a drink offering on it. JUB 10 And Aaron shall make reconciliation upon the horns of it once a year with the blood of the reconciliation for sin; once a year shall he make reconciliation upon it throughout your ages; it shall be most holy unto the LORD. NIV 10 Once a year Aaron shall make atonement on its horns. This annual atonement must be made with the blood of the atoning sin offering for the generations to come. It is most holy to the LORD.” JUB 11 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying, NIV 11 Then the LORD said to Moses, JUB 12 When thou takest the number of the sons of Israel after the sum of them, each one shall give a ransom for his soul unto the LORD, when thou dost number them, that there be no mortality in them because of numbering them. NIV 12 “When you take a census of the Israelites to count them, each one must pay the LORD a ransom for his life at the time he is counted. Then no plague will come on them when you number them. JUB 13 This shall be given by every one that passes among those that are numbered: half a shekel after the shekel of the sanctuary (a shekel is twenty gerahs); a half shekel shall be the offering to the LORD. NIV 13 Each one who crosses over to those already counted is to give a half shekel, according to the sanctuary shekel, which weighs twenty gerahs. This half shekel is an offering to the LORD. JUB 14 Anyone that passes among those that are numbered, from twenty years old and above, shall give the offering unto the LORD. NIV 14 All who cross over, those twenty years old or more, are to give an offering to the LORD. JUB 15 The rich shall not give more, and the poor shall not give less than half a shekel, when they give the offering unto the LORD to make reconciliation for your souls. NIV 15 The rich are not to give more than a half shekel and the poor are not to give less when you make the offering to the LORD to atone for your lives. JUB 16 And thou shalt take the reconciliation money of the sons of Israel and shalt appoint it for the service of the tabernacle of the testimony, and it shall be a memorial unto the sons of Israel before the LORD to reconcile your souls. NIV 16 Receive the atonement money from the Israelites and use it for the service of the tent of meeting. It will be a memorial for the Israelites before the LORD, making atonement for your lives.” JUB 17 And the LORD spoke further unto Moses, saying, NIV 17 Then the LORD said to Moses, JUB 18 Thou shalt also make a laver of brass, and its base also of brass, to wash with; and thou shalt place it between the tabernacle of the testimony and the altar, and thou shalt put water in it. NIV 18 “Make a bronze basin, with its bronze stand, for washing. Place it between the tent of meeting and the altar, and put water in it. JUB 19 And from it Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet. NIV 19 Aaron and his sons are to wash their hands and feet with water from it. JUB 20 When they go into the tabernacle of the testimony, they shall wash with water that they not die, or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn the offering unto the LORD that must be consumed by fire, NIV 20 Whenever they enter the tent of meeting, they shall wash with water so that they will not die. Also, when they approach the altar to minister by presenting a food offering to the LORD, JUB 21 they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they not die. And he and his seed shall have it as a perpetual statute throughout their generations. NIV 21 they shall wash their hands and feet so that they will not die. This is to be a lasting ordinance for Aaron and his descendants for the generations to come.” JUB 22 The LORD spoke further unto Moses, saying, NIV 22 Then the LORD said to Moses, JUB 23 Thou must take unto thee of the principal spices: of excellent myrrh five hundred shekels and of aromatic cinnamon half so much, even two hundred and fifty shekels, and of aromatic calamus two hundred and fifty shekels, NIV 23 “Take the following fine spices: 500 shekels of liquid myrrh, half as much (that is, 250 shekels) of fragrant cinnamon, 250 shekels of fragrant calamus, JUB 24 and of cassia five hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary, and of oil olive one hin; NIV 24 500 shekels of cassia—all according to the sanctuary shekel—and a hin of olive oil. JUB 25 and thou shalt make of it the oil of the holy anointing, a superior ointment, after the art of the apothecary, which shall be the oil of the holy anointing. NIV 25 Make these into a sacred anointing oil, a fragrant blend, the work of a perfumer. It will be the sacred anointing oil. JUB 26 And thou shalt anoint the tabernacle of the testimony with it and the ark of the testimony NIV 26 Then use it to anoint the tent of meeting, the ark of the covenant law, JUB 27 and the table and all its vessels and the lampstand and its vessels and the altar of incense NIV 27 the table and all its articles, the lampstand and its accessories, the altar of incense, JUB 28 and the altar of burnt offering with all its vessels and the laver and its base. NIV 28 the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the basin with its stand. JUB 29 Thus thou shalt consecrate them, and they shall be most holy; whatever touches them shall be sanctified. NIV 29 You shall consecrate them so they will be most holy, and whatever touches them will be holy. JUB 30 And thou shalt also anoint Aaron and his sons and sanctify them that they may be my priests. NIV 30 “Anoint Aaron and his sons and consecrate them so they may serve me as priests. JUB 31 And thou shalt speak unto the sons of Israel, saying, This shall be my oil of the holy anointing throughout your ages. NIV 31 Say to the Israelites, ‘This is to be my sacred anointing oil for the generations to come. JUB 32 It shall not be poured upon man’s flesh; neither shall ye make any other like it, after the composition of it; it is holy, and it shall be holy unto you. NIV 32 Do not pour it on anyone else’s body and do not make any other oil using the same formula. It is sacred, and you are to consider it sacred. JUB 33 Whoever compounds any like it and puts any of it upon a stranger shall be cut off from his people. NIV 33 Whoever makes perfume like it and puts it on anyone other than a priest must be cut off from their people.’ ” JUB 34 And the LORD said unto Moses, Take unto thee aromas, stacte and onycha and aromatic galbanum and pure frankincense, of each in equal weight. NIV 34 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Take fragrant spices—gum resin, onycha and galbanum—and pure frankincense, all in equal amounts, JUB 35 And thou shalt make it a perfume, a confection after the art of the apothecary, tempered together, pure and holy; NIV 35 and make a fragrant blend of incense, the work of a perfumer. It is to be salted and pure and sacred. JUB 36 and thou shalt beat some of it very small and put of it before the testimony in the tabernacle of the testimony, where I will testify unto thee of myself. It shall be most holy unto you. NIV 36 Grind some of it to powder and place it in front of the ark of the covenant law in the tent of meeting, where I will meet with you. It shall be most holy to you. JUB 37 And as for the perfume which thou shalt make, ye shall not make to yourselves another according to the composition thereof: it shall be holiness unto thee for the LORD. NIV 37 Do not make any incense with this formula for yourselves; consider it holy to the LORD. JUB 38 Whoever shall make another like unto that to smell it shall be cut off from his people. NIV 38 Whoever makes incense like it to enjoy its fragrance must be cut off from their people.”
