CSB 1 Moses assembled the entire Israelite community and said to them, "These are the things that the Lord has commanded you to do: NIV 1 Moses assembled the whole Israelite community and said to them, “These are the things the LORD has commanded you to do: CSB 2 For six days work is to be done, but on the seventh day you are to have a holy day, a Sabbath of complete rest to the Lord. Anyone who does work on it must be executed. NIV 2 For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a day of sabbath rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it is to be put to death. CSB 3 Do not light a fire in any of your homes on the Sabbath day." NIV 3 Do not light a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day.” CSB 4 Then Moses said to the entire Israelite community, "This is what the Lord has commanded: NIV 4 Moses said to the whole Israelite community, “This is what the LORD has commanded: CSB 5 Take up an offering for the Lord among you. Let everyone whose heart is willing bring this as the Lord's offering: gold, silver, and bronze; NIV 5 From what you have, take an offering for the LORD. Everyone who is willing is to bring to the LORD an offering of gold, silver and bronze; CSB 6 blue, purple, and scarlet yarn; fine linen and goat hair; NIV 6 blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen; goat hair; CSB 7 ram skins dyed red and manatee skins; acacia wood; NIV 7 ram skins dyed red and another type of durable leather ; acacia wood; CSB 8 oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; NIV 8 olive oil for the light; spices for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense; CSB 9 and onyx with gemstones to mount on the ephod and breastpiece. NIV 19 the woven garments worn for ministering in the sanctuary—both the sacred garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when they serve as priests.” CSB 20 Then the entire Israelite community left Moses' presence. NIV 20 Then the whole Israelite community withdrew from Moses’ presence, CSB 21 Everyone whose heart was moved and whose spirit prompted him came and brought an offering to the Lord to construct the tent of meeting for every use, and [to make] the holy garments. NIV 21 and everyone who was willing and whose heart moved them came and brought an offering to the LORD for the work on the tent of meeting, for all its service, and for the sacred garments. CSB 22 Both men and women came; all who had willing hearts brought brooches, earrings, rings, necklaces, and all kinds of gold jewelry-everyone who waved a presentation offering of gold to the Lord. NIV 22 All who were willing, men and women alike, came and brought gold jewelry of all kinds: brooches, earrings, rings and ornaments. They all presented their gold as a wave offering to the LORD. CSB 23 Everyone who had in his possession blue, purple, or scarlet yarn, fine linen or goat hair, ram skins dyed red or manatee skins, brought [them]. NIV 23 Everyone who had blue, purple or scarlet yarn or fine linen, or goat hair, ram skins dyed red or the other durable leather brought them. CSB 24 Everyone who offered a contribution of silver or bronze brought it to the Lord. Everyone who possessed acacia wood useful for any task in the work brought [it]. NIV 24 Those presenting an offering of silver or bronze brought it as an offering to the LORD, and everyone who had acacia wood for any part of the work brought it. CSB 25 Every skilled woman spun [yarn] with her hands and brought it: blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and fine linen. NIV 25 Every skilled woman spun with her hands and brought what she had spun—blue, purple or scarlet yarn or fine linen. CSB 26 And all the women whose hearts were moved spun the goat hair by virtue of [their] skill. NIV 26 And all the women who were willing and had the skill spun the goat hair. CSB 27 The leaders brought onyx and gemstones to mount on the ephod and breastpiece, NIV 27 The leaders brought onyx stones and other gems to be mounted on the ephod and breastpiece. CSB 28 as well as the spice and oil for the light, for the anointing oil, and for the fragrant incense. NIV 28 They also brought spices and olive oil for the light and for the anointing oil and for the fragrant incense. CSB 29 So the Israelites brought a freewill offering to the Lord, all the men and women whose hearts prompted them to bring [something] for all the work that the Lord, through Moses, had commanded to be done. NIV 29 All the Israelite men and women who were willing brought to the LORD freewill offerings for all the work the LORD through Moses had commanded them to do. CSB 30 Moses then said to the Israelites: "Look, the Lord has appointed by name Bezalel son of Uri, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. NIV 30 Then Moses said to the Israelites, “See, the LORD has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, CSB 31 He has filled him with God's Spirit, with wisdom, understanding, and ability in every kind of craft NIV 31 and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills— CSB 32 to design artistic works in gold, silver, and bronze, NIV 32 to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, CSB 33 to cut gemstones for mounting, and to carve wood for work in every kind of artistic craft. NIV 33 to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic crafts. CSB 34 He has also given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, [the ability] to teach [others]. NIV 34 And he has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamak, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others. CSB 35 He has filled them with skill to do all the work of a gem cutter; a designer; an embroiderer in blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine linen; and a weaver. They can do every kind of craft and design artistic designs. NIV 35 He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as engravers, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers—all of them skilled workers and designers.
