NLT 9 “Take the anointing oil and anoint the Tabernacle and all its furnishings to consecrate them and make them holy. NIV 9 “Take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and everything in it; consecrate it and all its furnishings, and it will be holy. NLT 10 Anoint the altar of burnt offering and its utensils to consecrate them. Then the altar will become absolutely holy. NIV 11 Anoint the basin and its stand and consecrate them. NLT 12 “Present Aaron and his sons at the entrance of the Tabernacle, and wash them with water. NIV 13 Then dress Aaron in the sacred garments, anoint him and consecrate him so he may serve me as priest. NLT 14 Then present his sons and dress them in their tunics. NIV 14 Bring his sons and dress them in tunics. NLT 15 Anoint them as you did their father, so they may also serve me as priests. With their anointing, Aaron’s descendants are set apart for the priesthood forever, from generation to generation.” NIV 15 Anoint them just as you anointed their father, so they may serve me as priests. Their anointing will be to a priesthood that will continue throughout their generations.” NLT 16 Moses proceeded to do everything just as the LORD had commanded him. NIV 16 Moses did everything just as the LORD commanded him. NLT 17 So the Tabernacle was set up on the first day of the first month of the second year. NIV 17 So the tabernacle was set up on the first day of the first month in the second year. NLT 18 Moses erected the Tabernacle by setting down its bases, inserting the frames, attaching the crossbars, and setting up the posts. NIV 18 When Moses set up the tabernacle, he put the bases in place, erected the frames, inserted the crossbars and set up the posts. NLT 19 Then he spread the coverings over the Tabernacle framework and put on the protective layers, just as the LORD had commanded him. NIV 19 Then he spread the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering over the tent, as the LORD commanded him. NLT 20 He took the stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant and placed them inside the Ark. Then he attached the carrying poles to the Ark, and he set the Ark’s cover—the place of atonement—on top of it. NIV 20 He took the tablets of the covenant law and placed them in the ark, attached the poles to the ark and put the atonement cover over it. NLT 21 Then he brought the Ark of the Covenant into the Tabernacle and hung the inner curtain to shield it from view, just as the LORD had commanded him. NIV 21 Then he brought the ark into the tabernacle and hung the shielding curtain and shielded the ark of the covenant law, as the LORD commanded him. NLT 22 Next Moses placed the table in the Tabernacle, along the north side of the Holy Place, just outside the inner curtain. NIV 22 Moses placed the table in the tent of meeting on the north side of the tabernacle outside the curtain NLT 23 And he arranged the Bread of the Presence on the table before the LORD, just as the LORD had commanded him. NIV 23 and set out the bread on it before the LORD, as the LORD commanded him. NLT 24 He set the lampstand in the Tabernacle across from the table on the south side of the Holy Place. NIV 24 He placed the lampstand in the tent of meeting opposite the table on the south side of the tabernacle NLT 25 Then he lit the lamps in the LORD ’s presence, just as the LORD had commanded him. NIV 25 and set up the lamps before the LORD, as the LORD commanded him. NLT 26 He also placed the gold incense altar in the Tabernacle, in the Holy Place in front of the inner curtain. NIV 26 Moses placed the gold altar in the tent of meeting in front of the curtain NLT 27 On it he burned the fragrant incense, just as the LORD had commanded him. NIV 27 and burned fragrant incense on it, as the LORD commanded him. NLT 28 He hung the curtain at the entrance of the Tabernacle, NIV 28 Then he put up the curtain at the entrance to the tabernacle. NLT 29 and he placed the altar of burnt offering near the Tabernacle entrance. On it he offered a burnt offering and a grain offering, just as the LORD had commanded him. NIV 29 He set the altar of burnt offering near the entrance to the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, and offered on it burnt offerings and grain offerings, as the LORD commanded him. NLT 30 Next Moses placed the washbasin between the Tabernacle and the altar. He filled it with water so the priests could wash themselves. NIV 30 He placed the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it for washing, NLT 31 Moses and Aaron and Aaron’s sons used water from it to wash their hands and feet. NIV 31 and Moses and Aaron and his sons used it to wash their hands and feet. NLT 32 Whenever they approached the altar and entered the Tabernacle, they washed themselves, just as the LORD had commanded Moses. NIV 32 They washed whenever they entered the tent of meeting or approached the altar, as the LORD commanded Moses. NLT 33 Then he hung the curtains forming the courtyard around the Tabernacle and the altar. And he set up the curtain at the entrance of the courtyard. So at last Moses finished the work. NIV 33 Then Moses set up the courtyard around the tabernacle and altar and put up the curtain at the entrance to the courtyard. And so Moses finished the work. NLT 34 Then the cloud covered the Tabernacle, and the glory of the LORD filled the Tabernacle. NIV 34 Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. NLT 35 Moses could no longer enter the Tabernacle because the cloud had settled down over it, and the glory of the LORD filled the Tabernacle. NIV 35 Moses could not enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. NLT 36 Now whenever the cloud lifted from the Tabernacle, the people of Israel would set out on their journey, following it. NIV 36 In all the travels of the Israelites, whenever the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle, they would set out; NLT 37 But if the cloud did not rise, they remained where they were until it lifted. NIV 37 but if the cloud did not lift, they did not set out—until the day it lifted. NLT 38 The cloud of the LORD hovered over the Tabernacle during the day, and at night fire glowed inside the cloud so the whole family of Israel could see it. This continued throughout all their journeys. NIV 38 So the cloud of the LORD was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the Israelites during all their travels.
