1 Y éstas son las generaciones de Esaú, el cual es Edom

1 This is the account of the family line of Esau (that is, Edom).

2 Esaú tomó sus mujeres de las hijas de Canaán: a Ada, hija de Elón, el heteo, y a Aholibama, hija de Aná, hijo de Zibeón, el heveo

2 Esau took his wives from the women of Canaan: Adah daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Oholibamah daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon the Hivite—

3 Y a Basemat, hija de Ismael, hermana de Nebaiot

3 also Basemath daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth.

4 Y Ada dio a luz a Esaú a Elifaz; y Basemat dio a luz a Reuel

4 Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau, Basemath bore Reuel,

5 Y Aholibama dio a luz a Jeús, y a Jaalam, y a Coré: estos son los hijos de Esaú, que le nacieron en la tierra de Canaán

5 and Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam and Korah. These were the sons of Esau, who were born to him in Canaan.

6 Y Esaú tomó sus mujeres, y sus hijos, y sus hijas, y todas las personas de su casa, y sus ganados, y todas sus bestias, y toda su hacienda que había adquirido en la tierra de Canaán, y se fue a otra tierra de delante de Jacob su hermano

6 Esau took his wives and sons and daughters and all the members of his household, as well as his livestock and all his other animals and all the goods he had acquired in Canaan, and moved to a land some distance from his brother Jacob.

7 Porque la hacienda de ellos era grande, y no podían habitar juntos, ni la tierra de su peregrinación los podía sostener a causa de sus ganados

7 Their possessions were too great for them to remain together; the land where they were staying could not support them both because of their livestock.

8 Y Esaú habitó en el monte de Seir; Esaú es Edom

8 So Esau (that is, Edom) settled in the hill country of Seir.

9 This is the account of the family line of Esau the father of the Edomites in the hill country of Seir.

10 These are the names of Esau’s sons: Eliphaz, the son of Esau’s wife Adah, and Reuel, the son of Esau’s wife Basemath.

11 Y los hijos de Elifaz fueron Temán, Omar, Zefo, Gatam, y Cenaz

11 The sons of Eliphaz: Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam and Kenaz.

12 Y Timna fue concubina de Elifaz, hijo de Esaú, la cual le dio a luz a Amalec: estos son los hijos de Ada, mujer de Esaú

12 Esau’s son Eliphaz also had a concubine named Timna, who bore him Amalek. These were grandsons of Esau’s wife Adah.

13 Y los hijos de Reuel fueron Nahat, Zera, Sama, y Miza: estos son los hijos de Basemat, mujer de Esaú

13 The sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah. These were grandsons of Esau’s wife Basemath.

14 Estos fueron los hijos de Aholibama, mujer de Esaú, hija de Aná, que fue hijo de Zibeón; ella dio a luz a Esaú a Jeús, Jaalam, y Coré

14 The sons of Esau’s wife Oholibamah daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon, whom she bore to Esau: Jeush, Jalam and Korah.

15 Estos son los duques de los hijos de Esaú. Los hijos de Elifaz, primogénito de Esaú: el duque Temán, el duque Omar, el duque Zefo, el duque Cenaz

15 These were the chiefs among Esau’s descendants: The sons of Eliphaz the firstborn of Esau: Chiefs Teman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz,

16 El duque Coré, el duque Gatam, y el duque Amalec: estos son los duques de Elifaz en la tierra de Edom; estos son los hijos de Ada

16 Korah, Gatam and Amalek. These were the chiefs descended from Eliphaz in Edom; they were grandsons of Adah.

17 Y estos son los hijos de Reuel, hijo de Esaú: el duque Nahat, el duque Zera, el duque Sama, y el duque Miza; estos son los duques que salieron de Reuel en la tierra de Edom; estos son los hijos de Basemat, mujer de Esaú

17 The sons of Esau’s son Reuel: Chiefs Nahath, Zerah, Shammah and Mizzah. These were the chiefs descended from Reuel in Edom; they were grandsons of Esau’s wife Basemath.

18 Y estos son los hijos de Aholibama, mujer de Esaú: el duque Jeús, el duque Jaalam, y el duque Coré; estos son los duques que salieron de Aholibama, mujer de Esaú, hija de Aná

18 The sons of Esau’s wife Oholibamah: Chiefs Jeush, Jalam and Korah. These were the chiefs descended from Esau’s wife Oholibamah daughter of Anah.

19 Estos, pues, son los hijos de Esaú, y sus duques: él es Edom

19 These were the sons of Esau (that is, Edom), and these were their chiefs.

20 Y estos son los hijos de Seir, el horeo, moradores de aquella tierra: Lotán, Sobal, Zibeón, Aná

20 These were the sons of Seir the Horite, who were living in the region: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,

21 Disón, Ezer, y Disán: estos son los duques de los horeos, hijos de Seir en la tierra de Edom

21 Dishon, Ezer and Dishan. These sons of Seir in Edom were Horite chiefs.

22 Los hijos de Lotán fueron Hori y Hemam; y Timna fue hermana de Lotán

22 The sons of Lotan: Hori and Homam. Timna was Lotan’s sister.

23 Y los hijos de Sobal fueron Alván, Manahat, Ebal, Sefo, y Onam

23 The sons of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho and Onam.

24 Y los hijos de Zibeón fueron Aja, y Aná. Este Aná es el que inventó los mulos en el desierto, cuando apacentaba los asnos de Zibeón su padre

24 The sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah. This is the Anah who discovered the hot springs in the desert while he was grazing the donkeys of his father Zibeon.

25 Los hijos de Aná fueron Disón, y Aholibama, hija de Aná

25 The children of Anah: Dishon and Oholibamah daughter of Anah.

26 Y estos fueron los hijos de Disón: Hemdán, Esbán, Itrán, y Querán

26 The sons of Dishon : Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran and Keran.

27 Y estos fueron los hijos de Ezer: Bilhán, Zaaván, y Acán

27 The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan and Akan.

28 Estos fueron los hijos de Disán: Uz, y Arán

28 The sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.

29 Y estos fueron los duques de los horeos: el duque Lotán, el duque Sobal, el duque Zibeón, el duque Aná

29 These were the Horite chiefs: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,

30 El duque Disón, el duque Ezer, el duque Disán: estos fueron los duques de los horeos; por sus ducados en la tierra de Seir

30 Dishon, Ezer and Dishan. These were the Horite chiefs, according to their divisions, in the land of Seir.

31 Y los reyes que reinaron en la tierra de Edom, antes que reinara rey sobre los hijos de Israel, fueron estos

31 These were the kings who reigned in Edom before any Israelite king reigned:

32 Bela, hijo de Beor, reinó en Edom: y el nombre de su ciudad fue Dinaba

32 Bela son of Beor became king of Edom. His city was named Dinhabah.

33 Y murió Bela, y reinó por él Jobab, hijo de Zera, de Bosra

33 When Bela died, Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah succeeded him as king.

34 Y murió Jobab, y reinó por él Husam, de tierra de Temán

34 When Jobab died, Husham from the land of the Temanites succeeded him as king.

35 Y murió Husam, y reinó por él Hadad, hijo de Bedad, el que hirió a Madián en el campo de Moab; y el nombre de su ciudad fue Avit

35 When Husham died, Hadad son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the country of Moab, succeeded him as king. His city was named Avith.

36 Y murió Hadad, y reinó por él Samla, de Masreca

36 When Hadad died, Samlah from Masrekah succeeded him as king.

37 Y murió Samla, y reinó en su lugar Saúl, de Rehobot del Río

37 When Samlah died, Shaul from Rehoboth on the river succeeded him as king.

38 Y murió Saúl, y reinó por él Baal-hanán, hijo de Acbor

38 When Shaul died, Baal-Hanan son of Akbor succeeded him as king.

39 Y murió Baal-hanán, hijo de Acbor, y reinó por él Hadar en lugar suyo; y el nombre de su ciudad fue Pau; y el nombre de su mujer Mehetabel, hija de Matred, hija de Mezaab

39 When Baal-Hanan son of Akbor died, Hadad succeeded him as king. His city was named Pau, and his wife’s name was Mehetabel daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-Zahab.

40 Estos, pues, son los nombres de los duques de Esaú por sus linajes y sus lugares por sus nombres: el duque Timna, el duque Alva, el duque Jetet

40 These were the chiefs descended from Esau, by name, according to their clans and regions: Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,

41 El duque Aholibama, el duque Ela, el duque Pinón

41 Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon,

42 El duque Cenaz, el duque Temán, el duque Mibzar

42 Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar,

43 Magdiel and Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom, according to their settlements in the land they occupied. This is the family line of Esau, the father of the Edomites.
