1 Dios confirma su pacto<br />Después Dios bendijo a Noé y a sus hijos, y les dijo: «Sean fructíferos y multiplíquense; llenen la tierra.

Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth.
2 Todos los animales de la tierra, todas las aves del cielo, todos los animales pequeños que corren por el suelo y todos los peces del mar tendrán temor y terror de ustedes. Yo los he puesto bajo su autoridad.

The fear and dread of you will fall on all the beasts of the earth, and on all the birds in the sky, on every creature that moves along the ground, and on all the fish in the sea; they are given into your hands.
3 Se los he dado a ustedes como alimento, como les he dado también los granos y las verduras;

Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. Just as I gave you the green plants, I now give you everything.
4 pero nunca deben comer de ninguna carne con su vida, es decir, que aún tenga sangre.

“But you must not eat meat that has its lifeblood still in it.
5 »Yo exigiré la sangre de cualquiera que le quite la vida a otra persona. Si un animal salvaje mata a una persona, ese animal debe morir; y cualquiera que asesine a otro ser humano debe morir.

And for your lifeblood I will surely demand an accounting. I will demand an accounting from every animal. And from each human being, too, I will demand an accounting for the life of another human being.
6 Si alguien quita una vida humana, la vida de esa persona también será quitada por manos humanas. Pues Dios hizo a los seres humanos<br /> a su propia imagen.

“Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind.
7 Ahora sean fructíferos y multiplíquense, y vuelvan a poblar la tierra».

As for you, be fruitful and increase in number; multiply on the earth and increase upon it.”
8 Entonces Dios les dijo a Noé y a sus hijos:

Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him:
9 «Ahora mismo, yo confirmo mi pacto con ustedes y con sus descendientes,

“I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you
10 y con todos los animales que estuvieron en la barca con ustedes —las aves, los animales domésticos y todos los animales salvajes—, con toda criatura viviente sobre la tierra.

and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you—every living creature on earth.
11 Sí, yo confirmo mi pacto con ustedes. Nunca más las aguas de un diluvio matarán a todas las criaturas vivientes; nunca más un diluvio destruirá la tierra».

I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.”
12 Entonces Dios dijo: «Les doy una señal de mi pacto con ustedes y con todas las criaturas vivientes, para todas las generaciones futuras.

And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:
13 He puesto mi arco iris en las nubes. Esa es la señal de mi pacto con ustedes y con toda la tierra.

I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
14 Cuando envíe nubes sobre la tierra, el arco iris aparecerá en las nubes

Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds,
15 y yo me acordaré de mi pacto con ustedes y con todas las criaturas vivientes. Nunca más las aguas de un diluvio volverán a destruir a todos los seres vivos.

I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.
16 Cuando yo vea el arco iris en las nubes, me acordaré del pacto eterno entre Dios y toda criatura viviente sobre la tierra».

Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”
17 Entonces Dios le dijo a Noé: «Este arco iris es la señal del pacto que yo confirmo con todas las criaturas de la tierra».

So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth.”
18 Los hijos de Noé<br />Los hijos de Noé que salieron de la barca con su padre fueron Sem, Cam y Jafet (Cam es el padre de Canaán).

The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham and Japheth. (Ham was the father of Canaan.)
19 De estos tres hijos de Noé provienen todas las personas que ahora pueblan la tierra.

These were the three sons of Noah, and from them came the people who were scattered over the whole earth.
20 Después del diluvio, Noé comenzó a cultivar la tierra y plantó un viñedo.

Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded to plant a vineyard.
21 Cierto día, bebió del vino que había hecho y se emborrachó, y estaba recostado y desnudo dentro de su carpa.

When he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and lay uncovered inside his tent.
22 Cam, el padre de Canaán, vio que su padre estaba desnudo y salió a contárselo a sus hermanos.

Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father naked and told his two brothers outside.
23 Entonces Sem y Jafet tomaron un manto, se lo pusieron sobre los hombros y entraron de espaldas a la carpa para cubrir a su padre. Mientras lo hacían, miraban para otro lado a fin de no ver a su padre desnudo.

But Shem and Japheth took a garment and laid it across their shoulders; then they walked in backward and covered their father’s naked body. Their faces were turned the other way so that they would not see their father naked.
24 Cuando Noé despertó de su estupor, se enteró de lo que había hecho Cam, su hijo menor.

When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son had done to him,
25 Entonces maldijo a Canaán, el hijo de Cam:<br />«¡Maldito sea Canaán!<br />¡Que sea el más inferior de los siervos para con sus familiares!».

he said, “Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers.”
26 Entonces dijo Noé:<br />«¡Bendito sea el Señor<br />, Dios de Sem,<br />y sea Canaán su siervo!

He also said, “Praise be to the LORD, the God of Shem! May Canaan be the slave of Shem.
27 ¡Que Dios extienda el territorio de Jafet!<br />Que Jafet comparta la prosperidad de Sem,<br />y sea Canaán su siervo».

May God extend Japheth’s territory; may Japheth live in the tents of Shem, and may Canaan be the slave of Japheth.”
28 Noé vivió trescientos cincuenta años más después del gran diluvio.

After the flood Noah lived 350 years.
29 Vivió novecientos cincuenta años y luego murió.

Noah lived a total of 950 years, and then he died.
