Hosea 6

GNT 1 The people say, "Let's return to the Lord! He has hurt us, but he will be sure to heal us; he has wounded us, but he will bandage our wounds, won't he? NIV 1 “Come, let us return to the LORD. He has torn us to pieces but he will heal us; he has injured us but he will bind up our wounds. GNT 2 In two or three days he will revive us, and we will live in his presence. NIV 2 After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence. GNT 3 Let us try to know the Lord. He will come to us as surely as the day dawns, as surely as the spring rains fall upon the earth." NIV 3 Let us acknowledge the LORD; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.” GNT 4 But the Lord says, "Israel and Judah, what am I going to do with you? GNT 6 I want your constant love, not your animal sacrifices. I would rather have my people know me than burn offerings to me. NIV 6 For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, and acknowledgment of God rather than burnt offerings. GNT 7 "But as soon as they entered the land at Adam, they broke the covenant I had made with them. NIV 7 As at Adam, they have broken the covenant; they were unfaithful to me there. GNT 8 Gilead is a city full of evil people and murderers. NIV 8 Gilead is a city of evildoers, stained with footprints of blood. GNT 9 The priests are like a gang of robbers who wait in ambush for someone. Even on the road to the holy place at Shechem they commit murder. And they do all this evil deliberately! NIV 9 As marauders lie in ambush for a victim, so do bands of priests; they murder on the road to Shechem, carrying out their wicked schemes. GNT 10 I have seen a horrible thing in Israel: my people have defiled themselves by worshiping idols. NIV 10 I have seen a horrible thing in Israel: There Ephraim is given to prostitution, Israel is defiled. GNT 11 "And as for you, people of Judah, I have set a time to punish you also for what you are doing. NIV 11 “Also for you, Judah, a harvest is appointed. “Whenever I would restore the fortunes of my people,
