1 Sedequías tenía veintiún años cuando comenzó a reinar, y reinó once años en Jerusalén. El nombre de su madre era Hamutal, hija de Jeremías, de Libna.

2 El hizo lo malo ante los ojos del SEÑOR conforme a todo lo que había hecho Joacim.

3 Por causa de la ira del SEÑOR sucedió esto en Jerusalén y en Judá, hasta que El los echó de su presencia. Y Sedequías se rebeló contra el rey de Babilonia.

4 Y aconteció que en el año noveno de su reinado, en el mes décimo, a los diez días del mes, vino Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, él y todo su ejército, contra Jerusalén y acamparon contra ella, y edificaron un muro de asedio alrededor de ella.

5 Y la ciudad estuvo bajo sitio hasta el año once del rey Sedequías.

6 En el mes cuarto, a los nueve días del mes, cuando se agravó el hambre en la ciudad y no había alimento para el pueblo,

7 se abrió brecha en la ciudad, y todos los hombres de guerra huyeron y salieron de la ciudad de noche por el camino de la puerta entre los dos muros que había junto al jardín del rey, a pesar de que los caldeos estaban alrededor de la ciudad, y se fueron por el camino del Arabá.

8 Pero el ejército de los caldeos persiguió al rey y alcanzó a Sedequías en los llanos de Jericó, y todo su ejército se dispersó de su lado.

9 Entonces capturaron al rey y lo trajeron al rey de Babilonia en Ribla en la tierra de Hamat, y allí él lo sentenció.

10 Y el rey de Babilonia degolló a los hijos de Sedequías ante sus ojos y también degolló a todos los príncipes de Judá en Ribla.

11 Después sacó los ojos a Sedequías, y el rey de Babilonia lo ató con grillos de bronce y lo llevó a Babilonia y lo puso en prisión hasta el día de su muerte.

12 Y en el mes quinto, a los diez días del mes, siendo el año diecinueve del rey Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, vino a Jerusalén Nabuzaradán, capitán de la guardia, que estaba al servicio del rey de Babilonia.

13 Y quemó la casa del SEÑOR, la casa del rey y todas las casas de Jerusalén; prendió fuego a toda casa grande.

14 Y todo el ejército de los caldeos que estaba con el capitán de la guardia derribó todas las murallas alrededor de Jerusalén.

15 Entonces Nabuzaradán, capitán de la guardia, llevó al destierro a algunos de los más pobres del pueblo, al resto del pueblo que había quedado en la ciudad, a los desertores que se habían pasado al rey de Babilonia, y al resto de los artesanos.

16 Pero Nabuzaradán, capitán de la guardia, dejó a algunos de los más pobres de la tierra para que fueran viñadores y labradores.

17 Y los caldeos rompieron en pedazos las columnas de bronce que estaban en la casa del SEÑOR, también las basas y el mar de bronce que estaban en la casa del SEÑOR, y llevaron todo su bronce a Babilonia.

18 Se llevaron además los calderos, las palas, las despabiladeras, los tazones, los cucharones y todos los utensilios de bronce que se usaban en el servicio del templo.

19 El capitán de la guardia también se llevó los cuencos, los braseros, los tazones, los calderos, los candelabros, los cucharones y los tazones de libación, lo que era de oro puro y lo que era de plata pura.

20 En cuanto a las dos columnas, el mar, los doce toros de bronce que estaban debajo del mar y las basas que el rey Salomón había hecho para la casa del SEÑOR, no era posible calcular el peso del bronce de todos estos objetos.

21 Respecto a las columnas, la altura de cada columna era de dieciocho codos , y tenía doce codos de circunferencia y cuatro dedos de espesor, y era hueca.

22 Y había sobre ella un capitel de bronce; la altura de cada capitel era de cinco codos, con una malla y granadas sobre el capitel, rodeándolo, todo de bronce. Y la segunda columna era igual, con las granadas.

23 Y había noventa y seis granadas que pendían; el total de las granadas era de cien en la malla alrededor.

24 Entonces el capitán de la guardia tomó a Seraías, el principal sacerdote, y a Sofonías, el segundo sacerdote, y a los tres oficiales del templo.

25 También tomó de la ciudad a un oficial que estaba encargado de los hombres de guerra, a siete de los consejeros del rey que se hallaban en la ciudad, al escriba del comandante del ejército que reclutaba al pueblo de la tierra, y a sesenta hombres del pueblo que se hallaban dentro de la ciudad.

26 Nabuzaradán, capitán de la guardia, los tomó y los llevó al rey de Babilonia en Ribla.

27 Entonces el rey de Babilonia los hirió y les dio muerte en Ribla en la tierra de Hamat. Así fue llevada Judá al destierro lejos de su tierra.

28 Este es el pueblo que Nabucodonosor llevó al destierro: en el año séptimo, tres mil veintitrés judíos;

29 en el año dieciocho de Nabucodonosor, ochocientas treinta y dos personas de Jerusalén;

30 en el año veintitrés de Nabucodonosor, Nabuzaradán, capitán de la guardia, llevó al destierro a setecientos cuarenta y cinco judíos; en total fueron cuatro mil seiscientas personas.

31 Y en el año treinta y siete del destierro de Joaquín, rey de Judá, en el mes doce, a los veinticinco días del mes, Evil-merodac, rey de Babilonia, en el año primero de su reino, favoreció a Joaquín, rey de Judá, y lo sacó de la cárcel.

32 Y le habló amigablemente y puso su trono por encima de los tronos de los reyes que estaban con él en Babilonia.

33 Joaquín se quitó sus vestidos de prisión y comió siempre en la presencia del rey, todos los días de su vida;

34 y para su sustento, se le dio de continuo una ración de parte del rey de Babilonia, una porción para cada día, todos los días de su vida hasta el día de su muerte.

1 Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he became king, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

2 He did evil in the sight of the LORD like all that Jehoiakim had done.

3 For through the anger of the LORD this came about in Jerusalem and Judah until He cast them out from His presence. And Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

4 Now it came about in the ninth year of his reign, on the tenth day of the tenth month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, camped against it and built a siege wall all around it.

5 So the city was under siege until the eleventh year of King Zedekiah.

6 On the ninth day of the fourth month the famine was so severe in the city that there was no food for the people of the land.

7 Then the city was broken into, and all the men of war fled and went forth from the city at night by way of the gate between the two walls which was by the king's garden, though the Chaldeans were all around the city. And they went by way of the Arabah.

8 But the army of the Chaldeans pursued the king and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho, and all his army was scattered from him.

9 Then they captured the king and brought him up to the king of Babylon at Riblah in the land of Hamath, and he passed sentence on him.

10 The king of Babylon slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and he also slaughtered all the princes of Judah in Riblah.

11 Then he blinded the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him with bronze fetters and brought him to Babylon and put him in prison until the day of his death.

12 Now on the tenth day of the fifth month, which was the nineteenth year of King Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, Nebuzaradan the captain of the bodyguard, who was in the service of the king of Babylon, came to Jerusalem.

13 He burned the house of the LORD , the king's house and all the houses of Jerusalem; even every large house he burned with fire.

14 So all the army of the Chaldeans who were with the captain of the guard broke down all the walls around Jerusalem.

15 Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away into exile some of the poorest of the people, the rest of the people who were left in the city, the deserters who had deserted to the king of Babylon and the rest of the artisans.

16 But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left some of the poorest of the land to be vinedressers and plowmen.

17 Now the bronze pillars which belonged to the house of the LORD and the stands and the bronze sea, which were in the house of the LORD , the Chaldeans broke in pieces and carried all their bronze to Babylon.

18 They also took away the pots, the shovels, the snuffers, the basins, the pans and all the bronze vessels which were used in temple service.

19 The captain of the guard also took away the bowls, the firepans, the basins, the pots, the lampstands, the pans and the drink offering bowls, what was fine gold and what was fine silver.

20 The two pillars, the one sea, and the twelve bronze bulls that were under the sea, and the stands, which King Solomon had made for the house of the LORD -the bronze of all these vessels was beyond weight.

21 As for the pillars, the height of each pillar was eighteen cubits, and it was twelve cubits in circumference and four fingers in thickness, and hollow.

22 Now a capital of bronze was on it; and the height of each capital was five cubits, with network and pomegranates upon the capital all around, all of bronze. And the second pillar was like these, including pomegranates.

23 There were ninety-six exposed pomegranates; all the pomegranates numbered a hundred on the network all around.

24 Then the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest and Zephaniah the second priest, with the three officers of the temple.

25 He also took from the city one official who was overseer of the men of war, and seven of the king's advisers who were found in the city, and the scribe of the commander of the army who mustered the people of the land, and sixty men of the people of the land who were found in the midst of the city.

26 Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them and brought them to the king of Babylon at Riblah.

27 Then the king of Babylon struck them down and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was led away into exile from its land.

28 These are the people whom Nebuchadnezzar carried away into exile: in the seventh year 3,023 Jews;

29 in the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar 832 persons from Jerusalem;

30 in the twenty-third year of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried into exile 745 Jewish people; there were 4,600 persons in all.

31 Now it came about in the thirty-seventh year of the exile of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, on the twenty-fifth of the month, that Evil-merodach king of Babylon, in the first year of his reign, showed favor to Jehoiachin king of Judah and brought him out of prison .

32 Then he spoke kindly to him and set his throne above the thrones of the kings who were with him in Babylon.

33 So Jehoiachin changed his prison clothes, and had his meals in the king's presence regularly all the days of his life.

34 For his allowance, a regular allowance was given him by the king of Babylon, a daily portion all the days of his life until the day of his death.
