1 Mi espíritu está quebrantado, mis días extinguidos, el sepulcro está preparado para mí.

1 "My spirit is broken, my days are extinguished, The grave is ready for me.

2 No hay sino escarnecedores conmigo, y mis ojos miran su provocación.

2 "Surely mockers are with me, And my eye gazes on their provocation.

3 Coloca, pues, contigo una fianza para mí; ¿quién hay que sea mi fiador?

3 "Lay down, now, a pledge for me with Yourself; Who is there that will be my guarantor ?

4 Porque has escondido su corazón del entendimiento, por tanto no los exaltarás.

4 "For You have kept their heart from understanding, Therefore You will not exalt them.

5 Al que denuncie a sus amigos por una parte del botín, a sus hijos se les debilitarán los ojos.

5 "He who informs against friends for a share of the spoil, The eyes of his children also will languish.

6 Porque El me ha hecho proverbio del pueblo, y soy uno a quien los hombres escupen.

6 "But He has made me a byword of the people, And I am one at whom men spit.

7 Mis ojos se oscurecen también por el sufrimiento, y mis miembros todos son como una sombra.

7 "My eye has also grown dim because of grief, And all my members are as a shadow.

8 Los rectos se quedarán pasmados de esto, y el inocente se indignará contra el impío.

8 "The upright will be appalled at this, And the innocent will stir up himself against the godless.

9 Sin embargo el justo se mantendrá en su camino, y el de manos limpias más y más se fortalecerá.

9 "Nevertheless the righteous will hold to his way, And he who has clean hands will grow stronger and stronger.

10 Pero volveos todos vosotros, y venid ahora, pues no hallo entre vosotros a ningún sabio.

10 "But come again all of you now, For I do not find a wise man among you.

11 Mis días han pasado, se deshicieron mis planes, los deseos de mi corazón.

11 "My days are past, my plans are torn apart, Even the wishes of my heart.

12 Algunos convierten la noche en día, diciendo: "La luz está cerca", en presencia de las tinieblas.

12 "They make night into day, saying, 'The light is near,' in the presence of darkness.

13 Si espero que el Seol sea mi casa, hago mi lecho en las tinieblas;

13 "If I look for Sheol as my home, I make my bed in the darkness;

14 si digo al hoyo: "Mi padre eres tú", y al gusano: "Mi madre y mi hermana",

14 If I call to the pit, 'You are my father '; To the worm, 'my mother and my sister ';

15 ¿dónde está, pues, mi esperanza?, y mi esperanza ¿quién la verá?

15 Where now is my hope? And who regards my hope?

16 ¿Descenderá conmigo al Seol? ¿Nos hundiremos juntos en el polvo?

16 "Will it go down with me to Sheol? Shall we together go down into the dust?"
